Inyen guitars have strong fingerboard without bending ,good tapering, good shape and good sounds because they are made by cnc machine with 3D computer programming

best cheap guitar i ever bought hands down!!!
The media could not be loaded. Plays great sounds great right out of the box. Tuners arent too bad, pickups arent bad either. Put some elixir optiwebs on this thing then............ whoa sounds incredible for 126 bucks CANNOT GO WRONG. This makes any hundred dollar squier or epiphone nothing but a toy. Stretch your strings very well its a cheapo.

Amazing inexpensive guitar!!!
The media could not be loaded. I am a music teacher who plays in a band and has recorded two instrumental albums. I bought this guitar after trying one that belonged to my friend. I was impressed by his and even more impressed with the one I bought on amazon. I waited a little while to write this review because it seems too good to be true. I had plans to upgrade electronics, but found myself liking the pickups it came with. I highly recommend this guitar. Mine looks and sounds amazing. The intonation out of the box was almost perfect and it did not require much setting up. If you are thinking of buying, take the chance!!

No manual or pickup or wiring configurations
This is probably my 7th iyv guitar, 2 are custom from the 2018 namm show and they are great guitars. The production ones are nearly there but always just missing a small detail or something little is just wrong with it. Don't get me wrong, for the price of these guitars, around $130 you aren't going to find anything that plays or sounds better at that price range. I have mostly American high end guitars, Gibson's, fenders, ovation, and a few others. Not all but most of the iyv guitars can compare in sound and playabilty to them. Some of the iyv guitars even play and sound better. Now for my gripe, because these are purchased online i don't really want to deal with the hassle of sending them back for minor issues. For this particular guitar though I don't know if it is this way by design or a mistake in wiring or a blown volume pot. I have no volume change with what would normally be the volume switch. When I back it down it bleeds off the treble like a tone knob but the tone knob also bleeds out more treble. So what you get is a very weird effect where you can really flatten out the sound of the guitar with barely any treble at all. Probably it would be great for some jazz players but not for me. Full volume and full tone though the guitar sounds great. I'm thinking about returning this one with a gamble for another one, same model. I do love the top on mine though and the neck pocket and neck fit is better than my other production iyv guitars, so I'm not sure if I want to gamble when I could just replace that pot or rewire it myself. The great about these guitars, and don't believe what the others say about sharp edges on the frets, it's just not true. Remember I have 7 of these ivy branded guitars and over 30 guitars in my collection. I've been buying these because I love their playability and their sound. The company almost has it together and when they do i expect all these guitars to jump up to 300 to 700. Some models are by design made better than some of the others, so you are aware. So they aren't flaws... just the way a Mexican strat standard exceeds a squire.Off the top of my head, my big jazz guitar from ivy is gorgeous and sounds great, fretboard and frets 2nd to none had 1 screw missing from the input jack plate. My ivy semi hollow, the red one, neck pocket not so great but I think it's the shape of the body and not the neck or the alignment of the bridge because the strings line up well to the fretboard and don't fall off the edge. Same isse with the white jaguar looking guitar i received today too. But that guitar sounds fantastic and well balanced tone so I'm not going to risk sending that one back, I can live with the bad neck pocket. The sustain is still as good as any bolt on neck guitar. The electric acoustic with the lipstick pickup, the bridge saddle that the high E sits on doesn't hold the string in place so it slips off when playing. When I change the strings I'll replace that as well. My iyv neck through Ibanez type guitar must be one of their higher end guitars, that one along with the semi hollow jazz guitar are the best made and with filed and rounded fret edges, but the tremolo was wrong on it. Weird thing is that tremolo fit my custom iyv guitar so I used it there, and my American deluxe arm fit that one so I did not send it back either. Again all minor things to me considering price, playability, and sound. Just a tad bit annoying and some work to fix the problems. So as I said, the company is almost there. Give them a year or two and they will be great. Don't get me wrong, I'm still buying more of these ivy guitars as they are being released. How else could I be able to get all these different types of guitars, and again they all sound great, and play good to excellent.

Can’t go wrong
This guitar plays perfect right out of the box . Stays in tune ,intonation is very close. The only bad thing is the top it looks like a sheet of plastic. It looks cool but there’s no way it’s wood. The more you look at it the cheesier it gets. Still a really nice guitar for the money. If you compare pictures you can see the patterns are identical

I can't set it down
I have about a dozen electric guitars. Mostly in the Epiphone/Squire/IbanezGAX range. No true Gibsons or Fenders or the like. This is my 3rd IYV. I also have the PRS "inspired" and SG "inspired" IYVs. Anyways, these things are built so solid. I'm just so happy to be able to get quality built guitars at a great price, as I'm still trying to figure out what styles of guitars best suit me. I've never much liked Teles. Something about the shape, hardware and pickguard I suppose. But this one changed my mind. It's a tele thinline style ... and I love it. The f-hole provides a neat look, and truly does help give the guitar a unique tone. It has a bolt on neck rather than a set neck of the other two I've received. Which is fine. There are some advantages to bolt on. The wood grain look is really cool. My preference would've been to have a matte/satin finish rather than glossy, to give it a more unfinished look ....but that's personal preference. And as much as I prefer humbuckers, maybe single coil pups would've been a nice thing. I did a few things to set it up (to match my preference), but very minor. It played well from the get-go and I don't want to mess with it much more. I love the neck. It has the same smooth but non-stick neck you find on a true Tele. I've been fooling around the past few months trying another budget brand. Firefly. But those things are just nowhere close to IYVs. Not by a longshot. The IYVs feel like a solid, quality guitar. You pick it up, and you know you have something. I love this guitar. And keep looking forward to more IYVs.

Lots of bang for your buck!
This guitar was listed as used and it was the last one available. There are some very light pick scratches on the top but they are hardly noticeable. Other than that, it's like new. I was very impressed with the smoothness of the fret edges. It was playable right out of the box. The fit and finish is beautiful. The only fault I found with the guitar is the binding in the F hole doesn't cover the thickness of the top. It goes down about half way and there is bare wood below that. That's a minor flaw that I can live with. I wasn't sure how I'd like the 2 humbuckers as opposed to the original 2 single coils that Telecasters are known for. It's got that traditional Telecaster twang. Overall I'm very pleased with it and recommended it. For a cheap guitar, it gives you a lot of bang for your buck. I would rate the quality of this IYV guitar much better than the Squire Affinity Series. Amazon has this listed as IVY which is wrong. It is IYVSheerness and Thickness are two categories that Amazon puts on all their reviews. These just don't apply to a guitar. For Sheerness, it's a sheer delight to play and for thickness, it's as thick as it needs to be.

Commit. Commit now. This is worth more that your paying
I'm not new to guitars. I'm not new to inexpensive guitars. I am new to high quality inexpensive guitars. IYV is just that. I know...your reading all these reviews where guys say just what I'm saying...telling you how they have guitars and some costing $2.5k, as I also have. Then go kn to say how it can hold it's own against a $2.5k custom shop. Look let's not get to carried away and gush over and lead people to believe its on the same par as the custom shop tele I show it beside. It is not. but it is also not trying to be. The custom shop tele is 12 times more money. It is not 12 times lessor quality. It is a decent guitar. Easily worth more than the seeming unchecked for quality or market share Washburns. Who's name evokes thoughts of bought items for the whims of an undesided child. Enough guitar to allow the kid to belive it's a guitar but not enough of a guitar of cost for the parents to feel regret or the need to free an instrament waiting to sing its song when it's never played. Its song is better silenced. But this unknown and praised guitar will restore your faith in the gods and give you the gift of music for the cost of admission to the custom shop. If your hoping to impress your fender thinline tele playing friend give up that idea now. Unless you want them to feel sorry for your attempt to impress them.Get it before they sell out and you'll have to wait until spring for new stock. I missed out on the Les Paul version. By one sale.Don't be me and think about it too long. Now I'm just cranking on the add to cart as soon as I see one I dont have. Hand to god!UPDATE 1: IVY GUITARS. These are really fantastic guitars for the money and for probably double they still have good value. Fit and finish is GREAT. EASILY AS GOOD AS SQUIRE CLASSIC VIBE with min. Upgrades. The nut should be upgraded to bone or synthetic bone. I put a used set if epiphone les paul humbuckers in and sound went from "this great" to "holy F****!!!!" Since I bought this tele style IVY I then bought the white Duo sonic/Jaguar mash up. Equally fantastic and sound is impressive but not as much as the ergonomic feel of it. It's a bit smaller it seems, but it may be the long body makes the neck feel shorter. But it is Also a big recommend from me. I should post my unboxing of it . And to further shill for IVY, (and thank you AMAZON for continuing to get some of the 30+ guitars in the elusive IVY line up) I just purchased my 3rd IVY. The Translucent green PRS. It arrives next week. I know it will be just a fantastic a d the previous two. Now just so you don't think Im easily impressed by crap guitars. I have 13 guitars....I know not many compared to some, but 5 teles one all gold with Bigsby and one vintage tele with a Bigsby. '79 mim strat, an odd usb strat sold at apple stores only back in 2007 I think, an Aria super strat, if you get a chance to own one, please, the neck it autonomous...lol..seems to play by itself it's so fast... mad smooth... Stratacoustic and so on. My long winded point is I know what I like. And ivy is in there man...let alone they make half a dozen house brands and off brands you already know and like. Harley Benton and wolf for 2 examples.UPDATE 2: A PRINTED TOP A REAL POTTED MAPLE TOP. I'm going to say I think it's a real piece of wood. I'll give you my reason for this and even include some video. I French polish my guitars and I'm vigorous with my hand generating heat. This heat causes the grain to become darker and some of the surrounding sap lines in the wood to become darker. Sometimes they fade back to lighter sometimes they stay haven't quite figured out what the secret is to making them stay yet. My point is this telescile spotted Maple top does darken when you hand rub the top noticeably. As far as I know there is no photo paper that's going to do that.

What a fun guitar to play!
Came to Amazon to buy parts for a new guitar build. I am not a proffesional luthier and I buy my wood at Home-Depot to give you an idea. Not exactly what people would call "tone wood". Then I stumbled on that beautiful guitar that the algorithms had sent my way. They know me pretty well... Got it for 199 CAN$. Way less the the sum of cheap parts I would have gotten to buy to build my own guitar (tuners, neck, pickups, pots, strap buttons, neck plate, strings, bridge, switch, wood, dye and lacquer) .I have many guitars and at least two that are professional instruments so, I can appreciate the differences between guitars.Keep in mind that this is a 199 CAN$ instrument.Mine came with perfect intonation. The action was ok. I could try to lower it a bit but it is very playable as it is. The neck is perfect. No sharp fret edges. Just a tiny bump on the back of the neck. Hey, some people buy reliced guitars that look damaged for thousands of $$$. Tuners look as good as I would have gotten for my project guitar. The nut is well finished and does not have sharp edges. The string slots were not deep enough so I had to file them deeper so that the string would be closer to the first fret. Again, the guitar was very playable as was but be aware that if you buy this guitar for a person that is starting on the instrument, higher strings at fret one are tough on the fingers of beginners. On one of the pictures you see some imperfections inside the guitar, at the interior edges of the f-hole. I built myself a small apparatus to allow me to gently sand those imperfections from the inside. It helped a bit but I could not get rid of it all. Funny thing, the result of the sanding is a fine white powder and the material sanded seemed to me some kind of cloth. I figured that it probably is fiberglass. I think that the face of the body is fiberglass with some kind of sticker of very beautifull wood grain or maybe some kind of veneer glued on top.The wood grain pattern on my guitar is not the same as the one shown on Amazon's web or all the other ones I've seen on the web. I guess, they probably have many different stickers or it is real veneer (but I doubt it very much). The back is solid wood and very well finished.I have just played for 2 hours strait on that guitar bending away as I could on rock and blues licks and the guitar stayed in tune. The humbuckers are very good and not microphonic.Hey guys, it's 199 CAN$ !

Nice guitar but needs work
I purchased the ivy ITF-300 about 6 months ago, and it is as pictured—a semi hollow body—not as described—a solid body. Finish was very good and still is. Electronics have been good and sound as good as I would want and the tuners seem to hold well even with a lot of string bending. The biggest issue with this guitar—and I would guess partly due to the low price is the condition of the frets. Plainly stated the fret work is very bad. Frets were not fully seated and I don’t think much of a leveling job had been done before sending it off. In 6 months of use—I am a bedroom player so maybe a couple hours a day—I have gone through 3 sets of strings due to first or second string breaks. I know I use plenty of string bending in my playing but I also have a few other guitars on the wall which have seen the same amount of use with no string breaks. It is a low priced guitar, but be prepared to do or have done a fret job which now puts it up in price for a totally playable guitar.

Semi hollow under $200 that could blow midrange guitars out of the water
My first brand new guitar I bought from a store after playing hand me downs from kijiji for 15 years. For $170 CAD shipped + tax I cannot believe I am getting a semi hollowbody guitar, Something unheard of even in the used market.PROS:I was expecting to do some work with the frets for that price but no sharp burrs and the frets were rounded and leveled. I'm lucky I got a good batch I guess.CONS:It does go out of tune after playing for a bit. So I suggest to replace the nut with tusq or simply just lubricate it with vaseline mixed with graphite from a number 2 pencil. The mass produced CNC technology has vastly improved to produce quality instruments like these for prices next to nothing unlike back in the day. In my opinion this guitar is at least worth double if to be sold in music stores.I highly recommend it to beginners as a starter platform and start modding/upgrading it once they get serious and even advanced players looking for a workhorse to gig and tour with
