Nikon's manual is vague with that "up to" statement. I believe the limit is due to the FAT32 filesystem - the standard filesystem for SDHC cards 32G and smaller - having a max file size of 4GB, so numerous files are required. Check the card - if that 5 minute clip is about 4GB in size, there's your answer. 64GB and larger SDXC cards use exFAT filesystem, which doesn't have that 4GB/file limit.

Please tell me feedback on touch autofocus of D7500

Will the D7500 work with my older lens. Currently using D90?

I'm mostly into scenery/nature/landscape/astro photography. What would be the main advantages of upgrading from a D3300 to this model?

I bought this body largely for its awesome ISO specs, and was quite impressed... until I wasn't. I was on my first big trip in the field (Canadian Rockies on a super clear moonless night) and continuously got frames with a red band on the right edge of the frame (short edge). I experimented again when home in a completely dark room, eye-cap on, etc, etc.. to get exactly the same issue. I went to my local camera shop, and they were able to easily recreate the problem with their own D7500. Nikon support has not had any solution in the last 3 months. If you are looking for high ISO and astro photography, I would stay away from this camera.

I have watched videos of what seems a lot of video focus issues. In actual use, have you found this to be true, if so, any work arounds/Nikon fixes?

I produce many videos in auto focus and I didn't find it to be an issue. I followed a bee hoovering harvested grapes on one video, and the bee was tracked very nicely. You can also switch to manual focus in some cases. Also, I don't just shoot a clip. I shoot several clips and I shoot them a bit longer. If something jumps out of focus, I just remove that part of the clip in post processing. In general, though, I don't have to do this. The lack of focus in video is exaggerated by the internet. However, I got inspired by some videos by people who shot the D7500 entirely in autofocus and were successful. You have to know what you are doing too.

Good value

Loving it, bit of a learning curve coming from d3300, finding how to change settings. No real serious use yet but it is certainly worth buying. My main reason for buying was to take advantage of my 600mm lens shooting aircraft at airshow, d3300 just wasn't fast enough on multi release. D7500 is blisteringly fast even with the high zoom rate in use.

This camera was announced about 7 years ago (as of Aug 24) however it is still a great camera to have. The price of this camera has come down over the years so that is good for the consumer. This is a feature rich camera with about 8 shots a second, so not a speed Demon but no slouch either. It sports the same sensor and focus system as the higher cost Nikon D500. Having 21 MegaPixels on the APS-C sensor enables bigger individual photocytes and so enhances dynamic range. Coupled with a decent lens, IMHO, gives outstanding images. Nikon only put one SD card slot in this camera and this is the reason the camera coped a lot of flack on the internet but if you don’t really need the double card then this camera is great. Check out reviews on You Tube for even more information. Cheers
