Seems to coat and adhere well.
Interesting stuff. I thought it would be oily. It's not. It's kind of tacky. I bought two cans to do three Harbor Freight 1 ton chain hoist that have been outside since July in Virginia which is rainy and humid. I used the first can almost completely on the first hoist. I was holding the can several inches from the chain while spraying. This wastes much of the treatment. By spraying it directly on the chain I was able to do the next two hoist with a single can. It coats well, and although kind of tacky seemed to improved the chain movement. Wish I'd tried it before the chain rusted to have a better idea how that part works, but I'm pleased so far. I applied this in November.

Very good general purpose spray lube.
I bought this and some CRC Extreme Lube because I was out of both types. This is a clear, medium weight spray lube with good penetrating properties and good water resistance. It dries some after application when the solvent evaporates and leaves a fairly clean finish. It sticks very well. Water washout is minimal. It's great for penetrating cable/wire rope, door hinges (auto), hood pivots and latches, lawn mower wheels and linkages and other things that require something more substantial than silicone, light machine oil or WD-40 to stay lubricated. Since it has good waterproofing properties, I also use it on exterior household door hinges by driving the pin out of the hinge, backing the pin with a rag or paper towel and spraying very gently and very carefully. Or, I just take the pin out and spray it over a garbage can. Over spray on any fabric will be very hard to remove. Lacquer thinner is a good solvent for this grease if you need to wipe up a little. It comes with a spray straw and is easy to apply in small quantities with minimal mess.

Great easy to use product
I purchased 2 cans of this product for a tower clock repair. I had to remount a tower clock weight cable. Most of the original oxide coating of the cable was worn off when I untangled and rewound the cable. This CRC spray looked like the perfect simple solution to re-coat the cable with protective lube. It applies just like chain wax for an O-ring motorcycle chain. It's easy to apply with the spray straw. It also sprays a good distance making it safe and easy to reach hard to reach areas of the cable with the weight installed and wound all the way up. I won't know until this winter how it performs in cold weather. But so far I'm happy with this purchase.

Watch overspray
I used this on my 2 post auto lift to lubricate the cables and it was great. But whatever this sprays on will be covered in a very strong lubricant that is hard to clean, so wear gloves and hold the cable in your hand and spray the cable as you move your hand, reducing over spray.

Use a saturated rag instead of directly spraying
Used on winch cable works good just use a saturated cloth rather than just spraying it on, seems to go further, 1 can did 90 foot cable, would of needed 2 cans if spraying, alot of waste that way. Little tacky so confident won't easily wash away

great product
One of the best i have tried so far. Goes on thin and sets up as a lubricant of this type should. Many i have tried do not. Do Shake the can well

great product
I really liked how it flowed In to the cable, and how it tacks up sealing moisture out. Did not like the spray nozzle. it would never seat in the valve at the top of the can. it sprayed and dripped every where. .
