A contemporary romance
The storyline of the book is very simple: A man named Chandran, finishes his graduation and in between he falls in love with a girl but unfortunately it doesn't come till marriage. The rest of the story is how he moves on and let's go of his past. All this might sound very plain and dull but the way it was written was what makes this book enjoyable till the end. There's dry sense of humour, old Hindu traditions are questioned, the feeling of first love is shown beautifully, themes of family, friendship, last days of college is covered too. The setting of 1930's India is well portrayed in this book.Overall, for me, it was a good change from the modern romance to a softer side.

Unputdownable!!
It's a story of a boy who is in his last year of history bachelor's course and his life after he compeletes his education . It's a very short book which you can usually complete in one or two sittings !

Decent
The pages are quite thin and text is transparent. The rest is good. The package was delivered in expected time.I request to improve the printing quality atleast.

Beautiful and Honest.
Amazing! Very real, it's like traveling back to the days of 1930s. While reading one will discover the more common India, away from all nationalism and sufferings. So one will feel like living at that time who has his own problems of day to day life. It presents things as it was then! So read it and enjoy.

... Indian stories with interesting twist and turns Narayan is best at it
When it comes to telling simple Indian stories with interesting twist and turns Narayan is best at it. Story of a BA student, Chandran of Albert college quite brilliantly told.My mind kept imagining Anant Nag all the time whenever Chandran, the chief character came into the play..

Very good book. Just wish the ending had more closure.
I was very happy with the novel until the ending. I won't spoil anything but it is very inconclusive and personally I despise that in a book.
