The izon View video monitoring camera allows you to stay connected with what you love most. In just a few minutes, you'll have the camera set up and streaming live video directly to you over your secure Wi-Fi internet connection. Many people are using the izon View as a nanny cam, a pet camera or as a self-monitoring security camera. You will use the free izon app to see and listen to real-time streaming of your home or office, at any time, via smartphone or tablet. The izon also features night vision. It works seamlessly to fit your needs as a baby monitor, pet camera, office or home camera. The izon app lets you customize your motion and sound alert sensitivity. When the camera detects motion or sound it automatically begins secure online Cloud Video Recording (CVR), and alerts you with push notifications. You can open the app to review recorded clips. The izon does not slow your bandwidth, and the app lets you store up to 25 recordings a day with the first 100 recordings saved for free. The izon works with both Android and iOS devices, and the app is available in the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Taking control of your security has never been easier, in under five minutes you will complete set up and have live video streaming of everything you love most.

Horrible product. Limited function, failed within a day
Horrible product. I absolutely cannot recommend this to anyone. It sold as new, but the packaging was obviously opened. I let that slide and took the cameras out and proceeded to go through the setup. They both connected fine, then went through 6+ hours of firmware updates, each taking almost an hour each per camera. Once I finally got them online and stable I unplugged each one and moved them to their places. Neither camera connected on it's own. I tried unplugging, I tried the QR setup and finally resorted to manual using their own built in wifi. They both worked for about two hours and then one failed. The second failed an hour after the first. I tried everything again, no luck. I tried hard resetting them. Still nothing. They both time out trying to connect. One shows up with it's own wifi "STEM" but the other one does nothing. Also, these work with smart phone ONLY. There is no way to access them from the web. Watching even a short bit on your phone kills the battery FAST. There is no way to send recorded clips anywhere. You can watch them on your smart phone, but not save them or mail them (like to the authorities). Useless. Night mode is horrible. MY big mistake was as they were going through firmware updates I was doing a major cleaning and threw the packaging out for the morning trash. It was long gone by the time these problems started.

Read and ask questions
This needs to be clear - each camera will only record 25 videos a day. Even if you delete videos it had recorded from the app it will still only record to the cloud 25 videos per day per camera so if the camera is in an area of traffic you need to only turn it on when you need it otherwise it may not record what you need recorded should someone for example break in and the camera is over the 25 video captures for this camera. This was not clear to me and I set up cameras and deleted captures while I was positioning them figuring they would be gone and the camera could still record as there were none on the app but because 25 captures were done already it is done for the day. I can still view the cameras now only till tomorrow. Only 25 video captures per day per camera........ If I had understood this properly I would have purchased something that allowed unlimited video captures and if the cloud only saved 25 of them and then started overwriting that would have been fine but that is not the case for this unit and I would have bought something else or used one of my exterior cameras for the inside which does not limit the number of videos it records per day which does allow for security where I don't feel these really do for me.

Works, but...
Stem needs to rethink their design. The older model cameras which did not have night vision were simply a better product. They were smaller, didn't get as hot, and just worked better. Also, one of my cameras from this new pair failed to work properly out of the box. It paired up and worked fine for a few hours, but soon it went into a mode of scrolling green lines and black flickering. A quick web search revealed the stem support site, and this is a known issue. I promptly opened a support ticket, and to my surprise, a stem technician replied with a feeble explanation for why the camera wasn't working properly, and an option for me to send it in for repair or replacement. I took the option of sending it in, and when it was returned, it worked great (probably a replacement). Anyway, the night vision sends out red light below the camera lens. If you think you will position an izon camera with night vision facing outside on your window sill, and turn on motion activated video capture, guess again. I suppose the night vision option will work well in a room where the little red light won't reflect off the window pane, and set off the motion capture alarm, but that's not why I purchased this camera. So, see if you can order the older model camera, and forego the night vision feature. I have 2 of the older model cameras, and now two of the newer model, and I like the older model cameras better.

these cameras have a good picture quality for the price
I have several of these cameras in my home. While they aren't as fancy or have a wide angle lens of the Dropcam or Nest Outdoor, these cameras have a good picture quality for the price. They even have night vision which works very well. These cameras are not designed to be outdoors, or exposed to harsh weather. I place my camera to looking out windows, and while they do have night vision, the night vision mode reflects through the glass so that feature is not very useful if you are pointing them outdoors through glass. However that being said, if there is plenty of light outside with a streetlight or porch light nearby, the picture is as good as a night vision mode.

DON'T BUY!!! Going out of business!!
While the product itself has been fine for what we wanted, which was a camera for the nursery and one for the front door, it was a bummer to get an email from the company that offers this product that they are going out of business at the end of September. So, we won't actually be able to use the cameras anymore since we can only view the camera feed from their Izon app. It's quite a shame, now we've got to shop around again.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND TO PURCHASE ANY STEAM AND IZON EQUIPMENT
I bought the cameras on May 05, 2017, after 2 months of use they just stop working. I did all the procedures that the support site asks for and nothing happened. I contacted IZON support by message, Mr. Michael Woods, asked only to reset the camera, procedure I had done previously and try to connect via wifi on the camera, procedure also done previously by me. He simply said that there is a chip burned and that there is nothing to do !!! As well?? I have other STEAM / IZON home cameras that are working, in the same WiFi network and in the same electrical network, because the new ones have stopped and the old still works ?? I DO NOT RECOMMEND TO PURCHASE ANY STEAM AND IZON EQUIPMENT. Bad equipment and much worse support. As a customer I am extremely dissatisfied, I believe Amazon, who provide quality service, review bad partners like STEAM and IZON.

Stopped working!
I purchased three of these less then a year ago and one by one, they stopped working. I pressed the reset button on all three. It takes me through the steps, but then doesn't connect. Very frustrating!
