The One
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Third time's the charm.Previous sound bars purchased (and returned): 1) 72Watt Meidong KY 2000 Sound bar 2) 40Watt Tenker Sound bar.BUILD:It comes in a plastic casing, with a speaker screen made of foam -- similar to the Tenker brand, and, typically, most other sound bars. And this is where Meidong separates itself from the pack. A 43" behemoth that feels and looks premium in build quality: Casing is made of metal, the screen is an aluminum mesh, and it's sheer weight tells you it's not cheap. Sadly, I think mine was a lemon -- since I couldn't get it to work (Thus I returned it and bought the Tenker). Also, the Meidong makers should take an equal amount of interest in investing in better quality remotes. The remote is really beyond generic and crappy in build quality.SOUND QUALITY:This is the reason we buy sound bars: The sound. And I can tell you, this BYL sound bar is "the one." I know that 80 watt speakers do not guarantee great quality, but, thankfully, this one passed the litmus test. A reviewer put up a short sound video for the Meidong (72 watt speakers) to give prospective buyers context, so I've added my video here of the BYL sound bar to give you an idea of how it sounds. Better you hear it than I explain how good it sounds to you.The BYL sound quality was just music to my ears. And dialogue during movie watching came out quite crisp.DURABILITY:I can't speak on this just yet since I've barely had it for a week. But there's a 60 day free home trial, so, I will try and come back for an update.PRICE:$49.99. Are you kidding?!! Don't know how long it will stay at this price, but heck I'm not complaining. This is indeed a steal.Hope you found this review helpful.

Easy to set up
We had this working in 15 minutes using the RCA to 3.5 audio jack connector, and the only reason it took that long was time spent finding a free outlet in rather cramped quarters. Then it was just a matter of selecting 'RCA' on the soundbar remote and boom -- all the volume we could need. The only drawback, one I didn't deduct a star for because it was my error, not the seller's, is how big this thing is. I've no prior experience with soundbars and I'm awful with numbers, so I didn't imagine 34" being quite so huge. Not a deal breaker. It just means we have to find a better place for it in the long run besides right in front of the tv.

It's big and sounds great.
The soundbar is quite large but still fits perfectly on the platform of my TV without covering the screen at all. It's the exact same width as my TV so whatever happens on-screen visually happens sound-wise at the same position of my soundbar. I'm not an audiophile but I can still tell that the sound quality and richness is high. As for volume, the max decibels ended up being quite loud and I don't plan on using it at that volume very often anyway. One complaint is that without the remote control, you may have difficulty configuring the product. This was the lowest price I was able to find an 80W soundbar ($72 at the time I purchased it) so this really is an excellent find compared to other comparable products.

It was great while it lasted
I have had this unit a couple of months. It was adequate for my needs initially. But in the last couple of weeks it loses programming with my remote and other devices, requiring I go through the setup process each time to correct reset it. The setup process is easily completed within a couple of minutes ( but I have had a lot of practice) as long as you have the directions in hand, due to multiple easy steps. If it wasn’t for this recent development I would give it 5 stars. But is frustrating to come home after a long day, get comfortable, put on a good movie and find out you need to get up and reprogram the sound bar.

Cheap sound quality meets IR learning and BT
Cons:Paper woofers make the mid or mid-low sound distant and with subtle echo but worst of all, boomy. Tiny, cheap tweeters are very mushy and on the top of the top end make constant sibalence.... talking, music, doesn't matter. That said, both poor sound characters diminish with volume. So for a bedroom, it might work. Don't expect great sound and if you turn it up, it'll just mush into a mess.Pros:IR learning worked like a snap. This is why I bought it. Bluetooth pairing also worked great but music sounded like it was from a low grade, cheapo 90s boombox I used to have. I won't use it for that.. ever. For late night tv watching using my tv remote for audio and power, it works ok. Convienent. If I can't get used to the cheap sound, I might return it.

It Works
Do not expect this sound bar to be loud. Good sound but no louder than my sharpe tv I would say around 80 db at max.

80 Watt SoundBar, BYL 34Inch Sound bar
I received my product that I had a lot of good reviews, however when I received my product it was missing some contents. It was received with another return label attached. I am returning this item back and looking elsewhere. Hope this helps you make your decision.
