Revised review
Previously, I gave this product a 1 star review and said I'd give it zero if zero was available. Assembly was almost impossible with the instructions - confusing text, no illustrations and no instructional video. I spoke to customer service - very pleasant agents - and told them of my difficulty which led to a detailed discussion of the instructions. My comments were passed along, and the company has completely revised their instructions and also created an excellent video that shows how to install the baffle over an existing pole. My only comment to the new instructions sheet is to mention that when one reaches inside the baffle to grasp the springs and raise them to be attached to the adapter, put some fabric around the circumference of the baffle to soften it, as the edge can cause some discomfort if you have to put pressure on it to get the springs in position. This may sound confusing, but if you look at the video, that comment should become clear.I have raised my rating to 4 stars - I might go to 5, but so far, my squirrels haven't tried to climb up, so I have no data on its effectiveness, although other reviewers report good results. Perhaps they're conditioned over years of an earlier baffle that defeated them, so they're content gobbling up seed that the birds have spilled out of the feeder.

Has kept raccoons and squirrels off very well so far...
I had really been struggling to keep raccoons off the feeder before installing this device. See the attached photos - I had tried all the suggestions commonly found online. A conical baffle (they went around it), a shiny metal pipe (they climbed up it), greasing the metal pipe (they didn't seem to care). This baffle however really seems to work. I have had zero raccoons, and zero squirrels on the feeder in the 2 months since installing it. It was a little tricky to put together (a bit fiddly trying to get the holes in the top to line up with the holes in the sides) but it came together in the end. I have since purchased a second one for our other feeder, very impressed so far. This really does seem to work!!!

Raccoon proof, does the job!
This arrived on time, boxed nicely with no damage, with instructions. We purchased it to keep a rascally raccoon from my Oriole jelly feeder. Instructions were clear, you need 2 people to put it on the shepherds hook. The raccoon has not been able to access the feeders since installation. Will recommend to anyone with a nocturnal animal problem. The baffle minimal diameter is 1/2”, which is the exact measurement of our shepherds hook. You need a very sturdy metal to support the spring loaded baffle, otherwise it won’t work. Love it that I’m not picking up the wiped clean jelly containers off the ground every morning. We’ve outsmarted that raccoon. Win Win!

Works Well with the Squirrel Stopper Pole
I got this to add to my Squirrel Stopper Yellowstone pole, so my assembly was a bit easier than others experienced. If you like that pole, I’d highly recommend just buying the version with the baffle already attached. If you’re like me, and you didn’t, you’ll notice the middle pole has a few spots that jut out with holes. Look into the baffle and you’ll see three long springs with clips. If you have tiny hands, you’re good. It’s easy to feel for the clip and snap it onto the middle pole connector. If you have normie sized or large hands, find someone with tiny hands, and save yourself a little headache. Now the baffle cover. Good Lord. This is where you need two people. One to hold the baffle, and the other to manipulate the cover onto the baffle WITH the screw holes aligned. It’s not easy, but it’s doable. The metal is thin enough, where you’re good to attach the screws, so long as you’re close. If you don’t have the Squirrel Stopper pole, you’ll need to use the adaptor assembly. It’s pretty straight forward, but looks like it could be a slight pain, if only to get it onto the right spot. The connection points are all aligned too, whereas the branded pole has multiple connection points higher/lower and around. So far, the squirrels have been stopped, and it looks good, so we’re happy with it.

Not as difficult to install as I thought it would be
I transformed my well manicured lawn into an expansive perennial garden. I wanted to add some bird feeders to lure in the wild life. It worked! Birds galore and the resident chipmunks loved the feeders and the seeds that fell to the ground but alas, I saw a neighborhood squirrel lurking along the fence line. My number one goal was to keep this squirrel from taking up residence in my yard. They already deplete the birdfeeder in my front yard in two days flat. My back yard was off limits.I immediately moved the bird feeders away from the fenceline to ensure the squirrel couldn't jump and land on the feeders and then I waited patiently for the arrival of this device. I kept an eye out for the squirrel like a crazy person. Making weird noises whenever I'd see it walking along the top of the fence. And finally, the squirrel baffle arrived.I installed it immediately. The squirrel didn't even come around to try out his luck. Was it my crazy noises that kept him away? Was it the sight of the baffle? We may never know. Winter is coming, there may be another test to come. I will update my post if circumstances change.
