i have read many reviews about this product. what most people fail to realize is this product is from a 3rd world county. most people have tried it because Dr. Oz said to. You need to take some responsibility and do your home work and not just do what people tell you too. I hope the following list will help those looking to but this product. You need to understand an consider the following before purchasing it to see if it is for you. 1. Red palm oil solidifies at room temperature. It will not come out of the bottle unless it is warmed up. 2. IT STAINS!! this is a natural plant product from a palm and can stain clothes counter tops and more. 3. This oil IS NOT an American product therefor it will not taste like honey it has a earthy musky taste (comes from a plant) 4. You can cook with very high heat like that of fatback and or bacon grease before the oil will burn. 5. it looks like Catchup when solid and looks like blood when in liquid form. 6. It is loaded with Fat if this is not for you don't but it. 7. in my personal diet it has lowered my LDL and pushed my HDL off the testing chart. most people also don't understand if you continue to eat lots of sugars with fats your cholesterol will continue to rise no matter what you do (look it up). 8. Search the internet for Nutritional info on this product it is loaded with Vit E,it also has omega 6 and COQ10. 9. Oil of any kind (Red palm oil as well) is the most caloric dense product on the planet. If all of of the above meet your needs than you may wish to buy it. Most important do your home work. The product itself is great. I'm hardly an expert and mostly use it for frying eggs, but it has a rich color and tastes good. The bottle with its narrow neck is not so great for non-tropical climates where the oil is mostly solid at room temperature. After the first few uses, where I can scoop it out with a butter knife, I have to warm it up and pour it into a different container to keep using it.

I initially refused to buy palm oil off Amazon because I thought it was too expensive. However, I recently realized that it costs about as much as an equivalent size of extra virgin olive oil. If you live in a place with a good African store, you'll likely find palm oil for cheaper, but it works if those are hard to come by. This is a good oil, with no off flavors or smells. This is a good price, and it's from Ghana. Don't get palm oil from Asia, the growing practices there are harmful to orangutans. In West Africa, palm oil production doesn't contribute to deforestation, so this stuff is good for all great apes, including you.
