Vila Whetstone Sharpening Stone

Perfect two sided grit size for sharpening hatchet and axe heads. Water stone is much better than stones requiring oil. Just soak the stone in water, sharpen the blade or hatchet and sprinkle water on the stone as needed. My hatchet is now ready for business. Nice grit paste forms and takes metal off quickly. The rubber base and plastic grindstone holder raise the stone enough to make sharpening easy without scraping the counter with your fingers.

This is my first experience with a whetstone and I also bought a honing steel. So glad I did. This whetstone is excellent for restoring that sharp edge and I was pleased to find it was two-sided (grittier on one side). I would buy this again if I needed it.

I love this stone to the point that I went crazy sharpening my axe and knives upon arrival.
