There are lots of exterior mold and mildew cleaners available online and in the stores. Be careful which one you buy because they are not all the same. The cheaper ones use bleach, which will give you similar results if you just use regular bleach, as per their product reviews. Bleach kills the SURFACE mold and mildew quickly and looks great immediately; however, most mold and mildew is deep inside the items and these products will not affect them. Bleach based cleaners need to be rinsed off quickly, because bleach can quickly cause damage to your items. Mold/mildew can return fairly quickly since only the surface mold/mildew has been killed.This product is different. It is safer and works longer...up to a year. And it should not be rinsed off because it needs to continue soaking into the items over time to keep the mold/mildew from coming back. It may look great immediately after the first application or it could take a little more time, depending on how long and how much mold/mildew is on the items. If it's really bad, it will take longer and may even need a second application. Each time you use this product, the faster it will work and the longer it will last.I have used this product for three years and I love it! The first time I used it, it turned part of my driveway orange! I found out that means the product is working. It looked terrible, but just like the instructions state, the orange will disappear when the mold/mildew is killed. The more mold/mildew you have, the more orange/black the color will be. It could take 1 day to go away or it could take a week or two. Mine took about a week. Once the orange was gone, my driveway stayed beautifully clean for over a year.I had an extensive hardscape (decorative cement blocks) project done in March and decided to be proactive and spray the stones and driveway BEFORE any mold/mildew started. My driveway did not need it, but I wanted everything on the same schedule, so I sprayed them all.I live in a beautiful gated community in N Central Florida where driveways turn black quickly. I watched my close neighbors pressure wash their driveways with bleach products 4-5 times a year, and the black mold/mildew always returns quickly. I built my house 5 years ago and this is the ONLY product I've used. About 3 years ago, I noticed a slightly gray color on my driveway, and wondered if it could be M/M. I did a lot of research before I decided to use this product. I was surprised to find out that the "slight gray" was actually the start of M/M because it turned orange for about a week. I've never had any sign of mold/mildew since that time because I spray it BEFORE it comes back. In five years, I've sprayed my driveway 3 times, starting in year 2.5. If you use the new "hose end" applicator, it only takes about 10 minutes to spray the whole driveway.I've told several of my neighbors about my success using this product, but most continue using their pressure sprayers with very short lived success. (I think men just enjoy using pressure washers or perhaps they used the cheaper bleach cleaner and the M/M came back more quickly than using the pressure washer.) Only one neighbor I told started using this product, and they can't thank me enough for telling them about it, because they love it too.

I mixed it on a 3 to 1 ratio in a tank sprayer and found Wet and Forget to be very powerful and effective at eliminating mold and mildew! My stone retaining walls were light green from the mold and mildew but two weeks after my application, they look like I power-washed them but it only took 20 minutes including the time to mix the product in my tank sprayer. It's very simple to mix, spray and forget.

I am a return purchaser. Used at the cemetary for headstones and monuments. They look like new. Same goes for outside jobs. A must have for patios, sidewalks, driveways etc.

Bought this specific brand on recommendation from my sister. Expect it to work well over time to clear moss, lichens, and mold from our shaded brick retaining well and north face of our house siding. Price was excellent on this two pack of concentrate which makes total of 9 gallons for ~$34 with tax. (Ready to use product is almost $20 for only a half gallon.). However it is very hazardous to use without diligent attention to all precautions. Active ingredient is ammonium chloride, a strong alkali. Whereas acids coagulate proteins on surface of skin/eyes, causing surface burns, alkalis soak through tissues causing deeper damage. The detailed directions mention risk of irreversible blindness if product gets into eyes. This is not hypothetical. I learned in medical school that the worst thing splashed into eyes is ammonia, which soaks all the way through to retina causing blindness. For the same reason bleach soaks into tissues, so fingers still feel slippery even after rinsing. So I used layers of clothing, protective goggles, and an N95 respirator mask while diluting concentrate and then applied product with a small hand sprayer to limit spread of spray as much as possible. I would worry about hose-end application being less controlled to a confined area.

I wish I'd taken pics of the before, but I didn't expect the drastic results, and I treated basically everything in one evening... so nothing left to show! I expected to need multiple applications. I bought a 2gal pump sprayer for ~$15 and made quick work of a lot of square footage.I haven't had good luck with anything black in color... maybe it just takes longer. Anything green looks perfectly clean within a day or 2 at MOST. If you pile it on heavy as you are testing a spot, 30min. I'm hoping the black stains will fade over time, and with a couple more applications (maybe).I pressure washed ALL my concrete, then sprayed with this... so hopefully it'll never form any of the black mildew/mold. I figured that was better than spraying this and hoping it would fight/kill 6yrs of build-up.I've got some left, so if I attack the in-laws deck, I'll add some pics.

Slowly but surely after applying this stuff with a simple hand pump spray bottle the green algae on the north side of our ocean area house disappeared and the paint once again looked like new after only a week or two. No scrubbing, power washing or anything except the simple application.PS: The algaecide in this product is quite similar in chemical composition to swimming pool algaecide that many use for similar control in their pools. Thus, very low in toxicity to humans, animals and your PLANTS when compared to products that contain bleach

I first learned about "Wet and Forget" in Florida after I had paid to have the mold and mildew power washed from my walk and driveway. The contractor said try it and you may never need to call me again to power wash your walk and driveway. So I bought it, mixed it 1:5 per the instructions in a low cost pump sprayer and applied it to my walk and driveway. I now do this each year when I go to Florida, once when I arrive in the fall, and once when I leave for the Northlands in May. I have not had to call for a power wash in several years. I also use this up north to fight the mold and mildew on my deck. Same program, 2 times a year and the results are great. It won't clean on contact, but it sure keeps things looking great year to year and applies easily with a simple pump sprayer.

Holy smokes this stuff is amazing! It says on the bottle it may take up to 5 days to see a difference but this was overnight! I applied it in the evening (since it’s 5:1 you can do a large deck) and look at the difference! I only applied it to half the deck because I had furniture on the other side but wow. I’m going to use this at my trailer where I usually spend a day scrubbing the deck. I’m so excited!
