Will this scan directly to a Microsoft Outlook email over a network connection or to a Windows machine hard wired to the scanner?

You can save directly to a windows computer in several forms including PDF to desktop or any file you set up. Then l cut and paste to outlook

does this scanner come with a cord?

It comes with a powerle needed to connect it to my cord. I don't think mine came with the usb cable that connects it to my Mac.

Has anyone tried scanning receipts? Does it work without having to copy them on a piece of paper first?

Hi, Thank you for your question. The DR-C225II does support receipt scanning. Canon also sells the “DR-C225II Small Business Edition powered by Receipt Bank” if receipt scanning will be your main purpose. All DR-C225II units can scan documents that are 2 to 8.5 inches wide and 2.12 to 14 inches long. If your receipts are within this minimum and maximum size range, you will not have to make copies of them before scanning. We do recommend that the leading edge of any document be free of tears to accommodate proper feeding. Thanks again.

my main use will be with a store retail receipt very long one ,over 80 inches long. it can works with this scanner ?
