I purchased two packs of these early in 2023 and found then that the black pair had deeper pockets than the grey pair, but with a new purchase of these, I find that the pockets on both pairs of grey and black have very shallow pockets. On the plus side, the waistband is much better, more elasticity and the cords are stronger and also seem to have an element of elasticity which was missing on the older pairs. Other than the above, I like them, they are soft and comfortable, very lightweight.
