Kyujyo KIYO Illustration Works 2003 -2009 (Art Book) Trinity Blood ~Rubor~ [Japanese Edition] [JE]

As the name implies, this is a Trinity Blood art book containing illustrations used for the manga from 2003 to 2009. Even though it says "Tankobon Hardcover," the copy I received was a softcover. If you collected the series through TokyoPop all the way up to volume 12 (which was when TokyoPop bit the dust), you've probably seen most of these pictures.This art book has 73 images: the 12 wraparound covers as 2-page spreads, 12 full-length character portraits on white that were used on the front inside flap of the Japanese manga (TokyoPop also had these), 12 half-portraits on black used on the back inside flap (TokyoPop did not publish these), 26 images used as chapter covers, and 11 images that I can't readily identify (looks like a CD cover, maybe promotional posters, etc.). One of the images is a fold-out in the front of the book. There's an index in the back with thumbnails explaining where each image comes from. There's also a page with the covers of the 1st volume published in different countries.I really love this book because the pictures are large and of high quality, and the colors are rich and vibrant. I prefer the manga art over the more severe, Vampire Hunter D-inspired illustrations in the novels so I knew I was probably going to be happy with this purchase (which I am). This a Japanese import so it's not cheap. Happily, you don't need to know Japanese to enjoy the artwork. I'm hoping they'll release another volume with the newer art at some point.

Recieved item as described. Impeccable condition. The illustrations are vibrantly colored and beautiful. An excellent addition to any collection.

Art is amazing. Love the Trinity Blood manga. Sad that the author passed before he could complete the series.
