Devon Ke Dev Mahadev - Season 3 Hindi DVD Set ( All Regions English Subtitles )

Really dislike experience with AUM ENTERTAINMENT seller: I expected receive Dev mahadev season 3 and pay a lot and I received The Soprano. :(( Don't buy this seller. If I will have good solution to this problem I will writte again.

I first found this series just cruising on the internet. The early versions had no English subtitles, but I was able to understand much of what was happening from having read some of the Shiva Puranas and Devdutt Pattanaik's books. I was disappointed when I got the Season 1 set because the translation was a little funky, the episodes were abridged, and it was very hard to navigate. However, I was happy to have the set rather than nothing at all. I got Season 2, and it was better. Season 3 seems to have the complete episodes, however, you will miss scenes if you just go by the Chapter titles. You have to Play All to see everything. I was very eager to see this Season because the Jalandhar episodes were quite extraordinary. Mohit Raina's triple role acting was something to watch, and I was eager to get a translation of the dialogue. I am not disappointed. The English translation is still a bit off, but experienced yoga students will be able to hear the Hindi dialogue and figure many things out on your own. Devdutt and the writers went all out on this episode in particular to convey the teachings of yoga in a relevant and inspiring way. As for the production values of the series - the actors are excellent, and the costumes, sets, makeup, lighting, music and special effects enable you to become completely transported to Shivaloka. Some of the scenes are quite beautiful and devotional. Sometimes when I get absorbed in the episodes, I forget that I am not actually watching Lord Shiva. If you love yoga, Indian mythology and the Puranic stories, I'm sure you will enjoy this series.

When my parent's neighbour (non-Indian) introduced them to this series, years ago, I had no idea what this series was about. As soon as they found out season 3 was available, they requested season 3. Having an aversion to all movies Bollywood/Tollywood, I had trepidations watching an Indian production. Being home one day, I watched a little and was surprised to find the story line addictive as the themes are universal - greed, power, selfishness, discipline, destruction and non-respect for the natural world. Some parts are a bit overly done and dramatic, with much looking, gasping, and highly dramatic music. There aren't the overly violent scenes with women highly objectified and subject to verbal, physical and economic abuse (themes rife in many Bollywood/Tollywood films). The simple tenants of the Hindu faith / way of living is explained in a way that is accessible to all. Despite the sometimes longer than necessary sequences etc., the main storyline nevertheless carries this drama through. Having watched most of the first series, this series sees the benefit of improved technology and improved scripting. The continuance of the actors are also a bonus. The producers would be hard-pressed to find a better suited Shiva. The subtitles are easy to access and whilst the English subtitles at times are literal, the meaning is not lost. The menu is easy to navigate on all the discs. The series is addictive. And both parents and neighbour love it!

Two disc where not working properly. When I submitted that they wanted me to send that back for me to get a replacement. The reason I order through amazon I brought Season 2 via amazon and it was perfect. I didn't have any issue. This even though I ordered for a new set looks like that is not what I received and the main box was bit damaged. I thought it could be because of the post but now due to the issue with the 2 disc I wonder whether I got a new one or mixed one. I collect these so not happy with my purchase at all, won't be getting Season 4 from amazon
