set in my shop for a while; i thought it would be hard to manage - nope! it's a little heavy, but you want that so it'll be sturdy. it's awesome. i thought it might be too short - nope! i also thought the steps may be too close or large and allow goats to climb over - nope! it's seriously well-constructed, easy to use, and light enough to move around. very simple to put up and down, if you want to leave it by the fence vs standing all the time. works in some wooded areas where i don't want to add a gate but love the ability to get over my own cross-fence for walking, etc. just a good, solid, well-made product and anyone can set it up. it doesn't even need instructions, but they're there...

We put this up over a cross-fence in a field. This ladder is perfectly engineered for the intended purpose. It is slightly heavy, granted, but this in not intended to be grandma's kitchen step ladder. For use in the field, you WANT something with some heft, and thereby stable. The legs also have turndowns at the outer edges, insuring a reliable footing. The assembly process is bullet-proof. Zero tools required or needed, save a knife to cut the package banding. Fit and finish are outstanding. And while I have no doubt the ladder will be hotter than Hades in the July sun in Texas, I'm also betting this is a "one-and-done" ladder. I suspect this crosser will outlast my ability to use it...

Not sure why the description reads 40 pounds but the manufacturer's website has it listed as 50 and the freight tag also said 50. My husband and I set it up. There was a little damage done during shipping and 1 peg missing and another damaged. We called the seller and they were very nice. The ladder is made of thick metal and feels substantial. Even though my husband will use it to go over the fence I will use it in place of our more traditional ladders due to the small platform on top. It will making trimming trees much safer for me.

the ladder weight was 57 pounds and it would require 3 people to set it over a fence safely ..the locking legs would tilt inward when moved so if one person placed it over a fence there would be no way to straighten out the legs by ones self ..the top step was two halves of plastic that met in the middle to create the top run ..i would never want to be 5ft in the air carrying anything trying to make my way down the other side ..very unsafe and cumbersome

I needed a fence ladder to access all three neighbor yards when repairing/replacing my 4ft dog eared fence...this is exactly what I needed. Great to use as a solid foundation when trimming trees and bushes also. Took off 1 star -- because the shipping packaging was lacking -- slight damage to ladder. It is certainly very good quality though. Somewhat heavier than a general purpose step ladder. Should hold up very well.
