This stuff is AMAZING
This stuff is absolutely amazing. I use it when I set up a new tank, or even sometimes after a water change just to beef up the beneficial bacteria. You can add fish immediately, no more waiting weeks for a tank to cycle. If you worried about over stocking, and about to add another fish, just add another bottle. My tank has never looked so clean and it totally skipped the "ugly stage" that most tanks go through. I always keep an extra bottle on hand just for incase moments. Once I needed to set up a hospital tank for a sick fish, and I didnt have time to wait for the tank to cycle, i just added this and then was good to go. Everyone who has a tank should keep this on hand at all times. It's amazing.

USED COUNTLESS NOW RESULTS LIKE THIS!!!
I used a bunch of different products for aquarium startup to create the bacteria. Bunch of fish loss over $400 in fish loss. No other product ever really worked. I put this product in within two weeks. I had a fully running fish tank with multiple different fish this is the best product on the market when it comes to starting a fish tank.

Day 3
Seems to be working. Delivery was weird. Why did I get the bacteria 2 days before the Ammonium Clouride? Better than bacteria sitting in a warehouse in Arizona or someplace hot, but... Getting the readings that I was hoping for.

Fishless cycle with Dr Tim's & ammonium nitrate works!!!
The media could not be loaded. Followed the directions to a T and it worked! 💪Set up: Recife eco 40 - Carib Sea dry rock and live sand. Ai 16hd, Nero 3 wave maker, and Axis 40 controlable pump. Added after boi cycle 2 clowns, 2 cleaner shrimp. Added a week ago after turning on the lights: a small colony of birdsnest and a plating montipora. So far elementary parameters have stabilized. I've also added algea barn galaxy-pods to help win on any nuisance algea buildup. Will update this post as time goes on.

Please beware of this product...
Honestly I have heard good things about this solution, but my experience was not congruent with others' experiences. I bought this bottle to treat my 65 gallon reef setup (full of live rock, over 70 pounds), and enacted the fish-less cycling procedure with Dr. Tim's own ammonia bottle. Now I do have a 20 gallon sump as well, so when ammonia would not read down the first three days (and no nitrite reading), I thought maybe I didn't have enough Dr. Tim's for my system. So I went to my local LFS and bought a bottle for 30 gallons and added this. Still, no help. But, I did put Seachem Prime into my tank originally since I had rinsed my dry rock with tap water outside and wanted to get rid of the metals (All the rest of my water was RO/DI). I believe the prime converted the ammonia that I had originally inserted into ammonium, thus giving me incorrect readings on my API Ammonia tests since those tests measure a combined Ammonia and Ammonium (Ammonium is not toxic to fish, at least in low levels). So after contacted Dr. Tim's support, I kept going and trying to see what would happen. I didn't put much trust in my ammonia readings, but my nitrite readings were very low (either 0 or .25-.5 PPM) for more than a week, and trace nitrate. Well, I decided to try to add a damsel at this point because according to Dr. Tim's, I should be cycled at this point (as their product actually suggests you add fish immediately, but I didn't want to kill the fish or put it through stress). Long story short, it's been over 2 weeks, I have 5PPM nitrite readings, 5PPM nitrate readings, and ammonia readings that I cannot trust. All this with one fish in a 85+ gallon setup and minimal feeding. This does not sound like a cycled tank, and clearly their nitrifying bacteria is not doing its job (but clearly the ammonia converting bacteria is). They also do not have a money back guarantee (they literally told me that it was not a water quality issue, which makes no sense), so buyer beware since this product is not really that cheap. I hope I am an exception though since I never write one star reviews, but I just wanted to save some people from unnecessary grief (if your experiences mirror mine). I will be cycling my tank the normal way now with a dead table shrimp and wait it out.

Back to microbacter. Thanks for getting two of my designer clownfish killed. Don’t play yourself this is overpriced too all superior brands are at max half the price. What a joke.

Did the job in my new tank
I bought this to cycle a new 255 litre reef tank. The instructions were very clear and there are a couple of very useful videos on line. I followed the instructions to the letter in terms of dosing and testing and the cycle happened just as should, going through the various stages. Personally I much prefer to use something like this rather than use a live fish which would likely be stressed by the poor water quality during the cycle. One concern I did have was that if you followed the instructions fully it states that the tank would be ready for fish after 9 days. This certainly wasn’t the case and it wasn’t until day 15 the the nitrate levels had fallen to zero making the tank fully cycled. I would suggest not following the 9 day suggestion but relying on the results from ammonia, nitrite and nitrate tests. However I was still happy with a 15 day cycle so would use this again if I ever start a new tank.
