Surprising Quality and Great Price!
I am VERY IMPRESSED!I was not expecting a magnifying glass of such high quality. The fact that the price alone implied that of a ‘lower to mid-level’ quality category in itself, would stifle any hope of anything more. However, even if one doesn’t stand firmly on the rule of life that “you get what you pay for” as I do, the quality level of this magnifying glass set is still apt to exceed the highest expectations of most. The magnifying glass set comes with three different size lenses. The largest diameter lens, (about a 4” frame diameter), provides 2.5x magnification power. The next size down, (about 3.25” frame dia.), provides 5x magnification and the smallest, (about 1.75” frame dia.), provides a very potent 16x magnification power.Along with the lenses, a handy microfiber cleaning cloth is supplied. With the largest lens attached, the overall length is about 8 inches and with the smallest lens, about 6inches.Each one of the lenses can be easily removed and/or installed into the main handle, which contains the battery case and LED lights. The lenses themselves were crystal clear and if there was any distortion, it was imperceptible.I would have expected to see a price tag of at least twice, if not three times, more than I paid for a single quality magnifying glass like this, let alone three of them!!The twin LED lights are powered by three AAA batteries, (not included), and therefore, supply 2.25 volts to each light. Many of today’s LED flashlights boast 6, 8, even 12 or more LEDs as a selling point, but only supply two, to maybe as many as four, 1.5 volt household batteries, (AAA, AA, C, D, and button cell batteries for example). Those devices will only supply 1 volt to each LED in a ‘best case’ scenario combination. In these consumer grade products, it’s generally consistent that an LED receiving 2.25 volts will produce a more effective light than one receiving 1 volt or less. (just sayin’).OK, so much for basic logic, back to the magnifying glass set.The seller, (“The Prestige Company”), was obviously very ‘customer satisfaction oriented’ and did not hesitate to check with me so they could be sure I had received the product as soon as they were notified by the carrier that it had been delivered. My point here is that The Prestige Company certainly didn’t indicate they afraid to encourage the customer’s opinion and if I was anything less than happy with the product, they definitely wanted to know. That promotes confidence in the buyer and lets them know they will not have to search out the seller if there is a problem. To me, that’s a very important point and if I could have given an extra star in the rating for that, I certainly would have!As you probably have assessed, I consider this product a GREAT BUY and at a GREAT PRICE! 5+ STARS!!Rich

What's not to like?
Was going to buy a much more expensive item from another company because I value quality and the clarity of glass, but then I found this. It is great to have the extra lenses if you need more power, and the product comes with a nice storage bag and lens cleaning cloth. I bought the 3 lens option and use the 2.5X magnification lens mostly because I find it the most versatile, mainly to see my computer without using the built-in light, if text is too small. The built-in light is handy to light up objects if you need, and works great for me. Excellent quality too. The batteries for the light are not specialized, expensive button batteries but are AAA size, so they are readily available. The only thing that I found a bit awkward and may be a problem for some with smaller hands is that the handle is a bit large due to the 3 battery compartment, but this is not really an issue for me with average size hands. The only other down side of this product, for me anyway, is that I found that the unused lenses will just rattle around in the storage bag, so as an improvement, I created a foam insert by creating cut-outs in closed-cell foam I received in a box for another product, and upcycled this foam for the unused lenses to hold them snugly in place to prevent damage and keep everything tidy before putting them in the bag. Overall, I give this product a solid 5 stars.

Magnifier With Light? What Light?
The light is an afterthought on this magnifier. The 6 LED lights that it touts are in one small spot where the magnifier head meets the arm. They may look bright in one spot, but they don’t give off much overall light. Our mistake, but we thought the 6 lights were spaced around the ring of the magnifier, so the light would shine directly down on what you’re reading. The spot light is just that – point the light at a spot. Yes, the little spot is adjustable up and down, but it just doesn’t light things up the way we expected. It’s hard to judge light in pictures, but we took these in natural light so you could see the minor difference between dark (off) and light (on).Another small thing that we find annoying is the giant plug with a red light that’s always on. Granted, it’s only pennies, but those glowing plugs use constant energy. We’re no experts, but we think it probably has something to do with LED, as another one of our lamps does the same thing. We never minded as much because the lamp is used daily, so if it needs to maintain energy then so be it. But this is a minor appliance to use occasionally. Leaving it plugged in and glowing seems to be a waste. And for such a tiny LED to begin with, one would think that a regular plug would be fine to give it power when you want to turn it on. Whatever. We’ll just live with plugging and unplugging when we want to use it. The lights are so dim, we probably won’t use them much anyway – just the magnifier. As far as the magnifier itself, we have no way to gauge the accuracy of the 8x level. We just know that it makes things somewhat bigger depending on how you hold it underneath. We mainly wanted it for the kitchen to read package directions that are being printed increasingly smaller as the years pass. The worst is the measurement fractions. Would it really hurt package designers to print 1 / 4 cup in line with the regular characters rather than letting the font change it to ¼ symbol? Rant over. The magnifier is a magnifier. As far as ease of assembly, that was a snap – literally. Only time will tell us the quality of how well the unit holds up. Overall, it’s a good size, we like the phone holder, and it seems handy for its intention. It’s only the light that’s disappointing.

Amazing lens
I gave this a 5 star because the lens is superb. However, one negative comment. The LED light shorts out all the time and that is a bit annoying. Otherwise great product for the money.

Very handy.
This was bought for someone with wet macular degeneration and it really does help. The lights are a great addition and does serve a purpose. It comes with three lenses and although nice to have I don't see them being used that frequently but it's good to have them. The price of this magnifier is superb.
