Blueprint for Black Power: A Moral, Political, and Economic Imperative for the Twenty-First Century

BLUEPRINT FOR BLACK POWER is one of the most important books I’ve ever read. I am upset with myself that it took so long for me to purchase this book. I’m not accustomed to spending $45 on a book but this was well worth it. Over 850 pages of useful information. Amos Wilson’s other books are about psychology. This book is about power in very practical terms. How power is created and how its maintained through economics and politics. It explains how other races exploit Black people economically. Wilson gives historical examples destroying the myth that Black people are economically illiterate. He gives the Nation of Islam under Elijah Muhammad as an example of how religion can be used to bolster economics and nationhood. He shows the potential of current Black church economically. Wilson acknowledges the fact that it is foolish for any Black person to be interested in politics when we are not organized economically. He suggests we should have our own political party because that would imply we have our own goals. Wilson criticizes the current Black Bourgeoisie/White liberal leadership. A leadership that has presided over one problem after another for decades and solved none. This is the kind of book that not only conservative white supremacists don’t want us to read but the Black Bourgeoisie/white liberal leadership don’t want us to read it either. You won’t find this book on any anti-racist book lists. If we read this, we wouldn’t support them anymore. We would have real Black power. I highly recommend this book to all Black people. Amos Wilson gives us a guide to solve all of our problems.

This is what I have been looking for, the undiluted truth. I'm enjoying each page of the book. Very inspiring.

I study this book everyday.

This is essential reading. I'd recommend that every person of Africa descent in this country, especially urban areas, have this book and read it! It doesn't matter if you don't read it all. Use it as a reference book and allow it to aid in the blueprint of your plan/goals. Go back and forth if you have to. Thirty minutes at a time. After reading this, and I say this with humility and good hearted honesty....certain elders I never looked at the same again. Yes, everyone has something to offer but I realized a lot of elders talk and believe they're age equates to them knowing everything. Nonsense. If they REALLY knew as much as they thought they did, why did none of them put me onto Amos Wilson when I was a kid? I soaked up things like a sponge and loved learning. There's NOOOOO telling where I'd be if I was introduced to Uncle Dr Amos in grade school or even high school. Regardless, better late than never. I love this brother. He comes with practical, historical and financial knowledge....and it's ALL relevant! No wasted space and most importantly....he has references! This is a top 5 book and It's not a book that you "finish". Once you get into this, it'll become a staple you'll go back to because of its aforementioned relevancy. Amos Wilson lives. Peace and love.

This book is the Bible for Nationalists. Dr. Wilson was clear and concise in identifying the problems and offering concrete solutions to the issues Blacks in American know they have. He demonstrated through this writing that it is ORGANIZED power that has been used against groups of people and the solution to tyranny and oppression is the organization of the terrorized and oppressed for power over their lives. He thoroughly debunks the notion of Individualism and how it isn't even practiced by dominant culture. It's conclusion is an undeniable FACT that our people do and can have POWER when they organize themselves for it. Bellyaching, whining and complaining won't get it.

This book is a beyond description. Dr. Wilson articulates the origins, stuctures and uses of power with a deep analysis of its expression in American socioeconomic life.Wilson presents in this book a course on psychology, a review of Black History, a debunking of white supremacist mythology, lessons in personal and group finance, motivational content, and a call to action.The Blueprint is not just meant to explain power in a theoretical sense, but to empower the Black Nation in mind, body, finance and spirit.

An excellent reference book for any collection.

When I opened the box and took out this huge book, the first thing I thought was why did Amos Wilson make it 800pgs... but now I know why, after the first 200 pgs or so Blueprint for Black Power actually becomes what the title says it is. This analytical analysis of today's issues with maladjustment inside African people is identified, there's enough here to restore the confidence to look back into ourselves again... I haven't finished the book, not even halfway but the truth acquired so far is overwhelming.
