Works Fine With Windows & Linux Devices Thruough My KVM Switch
I bought this to replace a failed USB to PS/2 adapter I'd had for ages.I was aware that not all splitters work with some kit and can be problematic with KVM switches too so I was a little apprehensive when I bought this having done quite a bit of searching on Amazon to pick what I hoped would work ok without paying silly money.Thankfully it turned out to be a good buy and so far it has worked with every piece of kit I've tried using with it so far running different Operating Systems - Windows 10 / 11 and Linux - all through an aging PS/2 with VGA KVM switch. The USB 'A' connecting plug is larger than a standard USB plug in order for it to contain the required circuitry to enable it to function correctly and do the conversion from USB to PS/2. However it is not huge and only protrudes a but further out from whichever USB 'A' port used compared to an ordginairy connector. The two cables connecting the female PS/2 connectors are around 8cm long to gives enough flexibility to distance them away from the the connnected device.Overall a very well made neat little splitter that seems to do the job well for a reasonable price.

It Works
I took a chance on this item. In the past I have worked in server rooms trying to make P2/s to USB adapters work. Here is an item that does work. I connected my old Compaq PS/2 with built in trackball and it's up and running. Nice retail package. Connectors are secure. The leads are of a good thickness. The USB connector seems good enough to make a descent fit. May buy another one.

Reliable USB to PS/2 Converters
The item arrived today and I started using it immediately in my set-up from my work laptop to PS/2 keyboard and mouse via a StarTech SV231 KVM switch. It worked straight off the bat with no hassle. However, I did drop a star because I had to fiddle for a bit to get the keyboard PS/2 connector in to the lead going to the KVM and I thought I was going to bend the pins. This was not the case and once I got it plugged in securely, it worked flawlessly straight away. This next bit is not to do with the product here, but the delivery, so does not reflect on the product at all. The order says that the item was "handed to the resident" but this was not the case. At the delivery time, I happened to see an unmarked van pull up, and a woman in a hi-vis vest got out and came to the back door. She did not ring the doorbell at all and a few seconds later she ran away from the door back to the van. She ran, not walked. I tried to get to the front door but she had already driven away by the time I could open it and call after her, asking her whether she was a delivery driver and what plans she had to say she had delivered something. It was dishonest for her to record that she "handed it to the resident" when in fact, she did no such thing but instead ran away.Sorry to put that in the product review but there seems to be no way to leave delivery feedback any more - this unprofessional practice is becoming more prevalent with Amazon nowadays; it is not right and it potentially poses a security risk and can lead to disputes if, for example, the item gets stolen before you can take it in.

Good Product
Had an old Aries keyboard hardly been used probably 15 - 20 years old with the old style connector gave this a try and it worked straight away using windows 10.saved chucking a perfectly good working keyboard in the bin.

easy to fit
When a motherboard upgrade does not have a PS/2 port and you want to keep using a sturdy heavy keyboard that doesn't move when you type on it, unlike the current lightweight models, this is perfect for the job

It didn't work for me, but it might work for some people
I wanted to connect a Toshiba laptop to an Aten KVM switch (CS-84A) so I could control it with the same keyboard and mouse as my old PS2 desktop PCs. Via the KVM it didn't work at all, and trying to connect keyboard and mouse directly the mouse seemed to work but it looked like the keyboard was outputting an endless stream of some key code or other. It may well work for other people, but it seems there's more to connecting a USB laptop to a PS2 KVM switch than meets the eye. I finally found the YACSEJAO adapter which seems to work.
