This is a great UHD tv for those on a budget
I’ve had this for just under a week and I love this tv.First off I wanted a UHD screen and was on a tight budget and after much deliberation I decided to go for this one (43”). I’m quite technology savvy and understand all the different screen resolution formats and I’ll explain why I think this is a great buy.My old tv which I have now sold was a Sony Bravia (1080p) and I really liked it but I’m glad I made the change to this because the UHD screen is great. It’s important to know that when you are watching 1080p content on a 1080p screen you’re watching it at the limit of what that screen can display, but I have found that even 1080p content (such a a desktop or console etc) looks really nice and sharp on this UHD screen so it’s great for 1080p even before you consider UHD content. I have also watched some UHD films and again this looks amazing.I’m watching broadcast television using the built in free view and the HD channels look great, the SD broadcasts ok,first thing I did when I set it up was go into the picture settings and turn the sharpness up to full, this works well.About the remote: really good, I like it, others have said it’s not that good but someone suggested not using the tcl (cheap) batteries included, I was aware of this and had some duracell batteries to use instead, I have had no problems at all, the remote is great. The tv only has 2 HDMI ports but this isn’t a problem for me as I have 2 push button HDMI switch boxes so I can manually switch inputs, I don’t mind this. The picture: really great and the panel dimming works well, I find the colours are vivid and the blacks are nice and dark even in a completely dark room( which lcd’s are notoriously not great at). Also on my PS4 (not pro) the HDR 10 looks really good, my windows 10 desktop looks great ( in 1080p & 4K).So all in all a great budget 4K tv, it’s built in freeview and app work fine and are completely acceptable (freeview HD looks great) but I think where this shines is with external sources, overall I’m very happy with this TV . 😁👍

Brilliant picture quality bargain 4k TV
Bought this to replace my aging HD LG 36" TV, and boy I am well pleased with it. The picture quality is brilliant for the price (£250 from Amazon in Sept 2020). The blacks are black, not gray and the contrast is very good. Even on HD the picture quality is excellent and out performs my LG many times better. This may not be of a Samsung or Sony but for this bargain price this TCL performs very well. It has some limitations with only two HDMI ports and the remote is not the best being long and thin and awkward to use with some lag when using the HDMI input and it can be somewhat erattic to use. Otherwise the remote is ok.As this is a smart tv I can use Alexa to switch it on and off, to access HDMI inputs and volume but not channels as of yet but that might be available using the right command and I will need to investigate this further. The sound from the TV's speakers is not the best so I have it connected to my Hi-Fi via the headphone out Jack that is so much better. Unfortunately there is no line out.Overall my experience of this TV is very good with some minor inconveniences as it is not perfect but I would recommend it for the price alone. It's a bargain buy for sure for a basic smart TV, and considering the picture quality alone and it suits my needs well.

Quite a slow response panel but very bright and vibrant colour, great value for money.
TLDR: For the money it is very impressive if this is your first trip into 4K Land. There is little in the way of colour settings but the default is surprisingly good albeit a little on the saturated side. I found the HDR to be quite good in the highlights, not so much in the shadows.I run mine 24/7 in Sports mode as you get the brightest picture with the good colour, like many people I am guessing they will be using this TV connected to a laptop or computer as a second 4K monitor, it works pretty well for this but it does have a slight timing issue with alternate scan lines leading to a slight herringbone pattern with high contrast text and edges when text is set to native 1:1 4K, but as a movie screen and as a day to day replacement for 4 x 1080P screens I find it very useful. Nothing much in the way of apps but you get the basics.

not worth the money
I bought the 65" version as I have xbox one x, sky Q, netflix and prime... So in theory we have access to some great UDH quality stuff.I had a very limited budget, and I found a review of the 65 on youtube that rated the picture quality very high. Boy that was wrong.1st quality of build.Very light tv, far lighter then my old 8 yea r old samsung (which is good). Bad light bleed around all the edges. So when you have a dark image, light is all around the fringe. On white backgrounds, snow etc I notice a wave pattern, light and not so light. This appears to be because the plastic laminate within the screen in buckled and it is very noticable. On screen interfaceVery slow. press the button for the menu and count, sometimes you can get to 2... 2 seconds... Way to slow. The interface doesn;t appear to have enough controls to set the screen correctly.Image quality.Wow this was bad. It was like watched standard def images, let alone UHD. I checked that sky was broadcasting in UHD, and it was. Movies were extremely dark, and settings had to be changed for each movie...Xbox One X, Elite Dangerous looked good, but I had to work the settings to get it there. I changed to BF 1 ( I was really looking forward to this game as it looks stunning in HD) and boy the image was so dull. Again I worked the settings to get a better image, and to be honest I never got as good as my old Samsung HD 50 ". Then when I tried the game the next day, the settings had changed again...Not good, I am now put off UHD because of this unit, and sent it back. This experience has put me off buying tv's online. If I do buy another I will go to Curry's. But looks like I am not going to change.
