If you are like me you sure don't want to keep taking antibiotics every time you get an UTI. I researched more natural ways to cure the UTI and I read about Uva Ursi...IT REALLY WORKS!! I now takes cranberry pills daily to help keep my UTI's at bay, but if I do get one I take 2 weeks of Uva Ursi. Even when I think it's better I go ahead and take the full 2 weeks. Easy to take, MUCH cheaper than a doctor's appt. and a prescription. I never want to be without a bottle...just in case!

After a series of nonstop UTIs for 6 months and 6 different antibiotics which reaked havoc on my stomach, I said NO MORE. I researched natural treatments for UTIs and uva ursi. D mannose wasnt really working or it only sometimes worked at ridiculously high doses. Some warning labels say that uva ursi at high doses might cause Kidney damage but I figured the risk wasnt bad compared to the damage that antibiotics do on one's gut flora. I only take 1 capsule whenever I feel a twinge and it has kept the UTIs away ever since I discovered them!

This herb is a very powerful anti biotic which is recommended to cure urinary tract infections. It is also dangerous if not used very carefully. You should only use it for 5 to 7 days (5 days is preferable) at a time and not use it more than 5 times per year. The following may be too much information, but since most people have never heard of this herb, I feel it is important to share my experience with the uva ursi: Upon getting the 5th urinary tract infection in 7 months this year and not being willing to take yet another dose of sulfa-based prescription (the only prescription antibiotic I can take at all), I did a lot of on line research and came up with the uva ursi plus other things as a recommended treatment. It is strongly recommended that you drink at least 3 cups of dandelion tea a day while taking uva ursi to protect your liver. You also should drink plenty of plain water every day. Also recommended for the infection were goldenseal tea, echinacea and vitamin C. I made tea from the dandelion root and the goldenseal and took echinacea pills plus extra vitamin C powder. I also had a liquid given to me by the homeopath I go to, which helped with the burning sensation. I did get diarrhea but blamed it on the high dosage of vitamin C because it went away when I backed off of the vitamin C. Two months later I got another UTI and again started on the above combination of herbs and vitamins, but not so much vitamin C. This time I took the uva ursi for only 5 days as recommended by my homeopathic practitioner but wound up with uncontrollable diarrhea even without the high dose of vitamin C. This infection seemed much more virulent and so it was back on line to do more research. Now with the additional research I found that D-mannose is the highest recommended natural type product for control of UTI's that are caused by E-coli (90% of urinary tract infections). It is the natural simple sugar found in cranberries, blueberries, pineapple, etc. The D-mannose attaches to the e-coli lectins and clumps them so they can wash out before they cause you problems - and even when they are currently causing problems. D-mannose has no known side effects and is considered to be safe. I found out that extended use of the D-mannose can also cause diarrhea problems, so am now relying on cranberries plus cranberry pills and a very good probiotic by Renew Life to stay UTI free. I bought the first bottle of Solaray brand ura ursi at a local health store because I needed it "right NOW". I ordered this second bottle of uva ursi from Amazon to have on hand in case I need it in the future just in case the D-mannose doesn't do the job for me. In closing I shall repeat: Uva Ursi is an herb. It is also a powerful drug. It must be used with caution and with dandelion root tea as a minimum accompaniment.

If you have trouble with UTIs, this is your friend! I have bad uterine fibroids that press on my bladder causing much distress, and this stuff has helped tremendously. Whenever I feel irritation flaring up, I take one two or three times a day, and have never had a full blown infection since.

They discovered a small kidney stone in the ER, took this for a month and it cleaned out my kidney and bladder. Felt so much better after using this. Will keep this on hand and I have also told my friends about it. No side affects what so ever and that is what this is so much better than prescription drugs.

I used to get frequent UTIs, but after using this product, I don't get them anymore. These works so much better than any antibiotics that can prescribe. Usually one dose of these clears an infection right up. Saves me time and money from not having to go to the doctors.
