Quality work for a budget price, I love it.
This cheap little iron has big performance! I use it for RC soldering work, and I have 1/8 scale vehicles that require 10ga wire for several hookups. This heats up a 10ga wire like it's nothing. I'm sure there are even better options out there but imo this cannot be beat for the price. Throw away the solder that comes with it if you're planning on doing electrical connections. Use a quality leaded solder, and probably get some extra flux just to be safe. I use cheapo flux from Home D and it works fine for my purposes. Again, I'm sure better options are available but this works for me. I've had this iron for about a week and I've done 6 xt90 plugs with 10ga wire and 2 trucks with 2 xt90's each. Right now I'm hearing this little gem up to do some 6.5mm Castle bullet connectors and I expect it will be a breeze. Temp control works well but the dial seems a bit fragile. Use care when turning it or storing the iron. Dont wrap the power cable around the body of the iron, at best you will lose your setting and you may possibly damage or destroy the dial. That is my only complaint about this iron. *update* I've been using this iron for nearly a year and it is still holding up. I have had a few bonehead moments of leaving it on unattended for fairly long periods but my solder station holds the iron safely away from anything that could be burned or damaged. All that happened is I ruined a couple tips. Luckily replacement tips are readily available, and this iron uses a very common type of tip. That means it is easy to upgrade to a brand-name or other high quality soldering tip in your favorite shape. Doing so has made this iron perform much better even than when it was new for me. It seems like at least once a week I'm using this iron to change out battery connectors on my RC cars as well as the batteries themselves. I've become the go-to guy in ny RC friends circle for soldering. The analog dial leaves a bit to be desired, as it seems to read a higher temp than the iron is really putting out

Pretty good as a beginner iron
Pretty good as a beginner iron. Im new and the control to manage the heat was pretty good compared to my old 1 heat iron. It fits in my hand perfectly and isn’t too heavy, it’s easy to control and swap the tips when it isn’t hot obviously.

It's OK but wouldn't buy again
Pretty basic iron. It does get up to temperature in under a min. Already have some decent irons and just got this a a backup or for some light duty stuff. At around $10 it's fine for something this cheap but so is the quality. OK for an occasional repair. The temp control is very inaccurate. Even at the lowest setting of 200°C it's can still melt ROHS unleaded solder. I like being able to lower the temp when the iron is going to be idle for a few minutes, saves wear on the tips. But this iron makes that redundant. And you really want to use some tip tinner on first use, the chromium plating layer doesn't look like it will last very long and needs to be cleaned/re-tinned constantly. It has a red indicator light built into the white body of the handle. In good lighting that light may not be as noticeable and I plan to put an in-line switch into the cord as a safety measure.

Used it once so far and it seems good
Just received and used it once so far to solder an Edison socket to a cord in a woodworking lamp project. The iron heated up quickly, and had no issues. Can't report on the longevity of the product, but it seems pretty nice to me. I don't plan on putting it to heavy use, just need it for the occasional project. Overall rating is 5 stars because it cost 10$ and it did what it was meant to do. For 10$ it is 5 stars.
