I allowed this bumper to sit out for 7 days, and it never took the correct shape. One end was permanently curled under. Dents all through it. It is not 4 1/2" tall. The one end wasn't even 3" and the end that did take the correct shape was only 4". All around, terrible. It is so flat it would never work as a bumper. The foam is so flimsy that any child could easily roll right over it. I purchased two of these in 2 different brands and the other one I purchased was a much much more dense foam that she couldn't roll over. Spend the extra $5 and purchase a better quality.

Wish we'd bought it sooner!
We recently assembled a spare twin bed frame for our 2 year old son and quickly realized our expensive bed rail wasn't going to work with the frame. We tried a pool noodle, rolled up blankets and an inflatable bed bumper. Nothing worked, until now! This is the best product on the market to keep kids from falling out of bed. We've had ours for a few months now and it hasn't budged an inch!!

No more pool noodles!
We bought this several months ago once we moved our 3 year old to a full sized bed. We tried pool noodles and other pillows at first, but the noodles always just shifted and fell off the bed. This has not budged since we put it in and it keeps my son from falling of the edge. Will definitely recommend to friends with young children.

Fantastic Purchase~!
Love. This. I was wondering if it was an unneccessary buy for my toddler that I just transitioned into a floor bed... It's perfect! I bought one, thinking we would put the other side of the long mattress against the wall. We ended up putting the end against the wall, so I plan to purchase another one of these! She currently rolls off on the side of the mattress where we don't have one of these. I tried a couple of different DIY options for that side, when I should've just hopped right back on and bought another one of these! Rolled foam and the pool noodle trick failed-- she rolls right over them and out of bed on that side. But never the side with this foam rail-- it keeps her from rolling off that side, and is so soft, she likes to lay her head on it as a pillow!

YES! After thorough research, we decided to get this for our son instead of an actual bed rail and we are glad that we did. It's super easy to use and allows him to climb into bed on that side whenever he wants versus having to take a railing down. He's not even two yet and this was for his "big boy" bed before his brother arrives in a few months (who will inherit the crib/toddler bed). He has never fallen out and I've seen him use it as a pillow when napping as well as he tends to move around a lot. We placed ours under the waterproof mattress pad and doesn't budge.

Functional but not thrilled
For what I paid I expected more. This product will do the job but the quality is in question. I chose this because it was specifically designed to solve my toddler falling out of his big boy bed dilemma. I chose it instead of a, much cheaper, pool noodle (which I’ve heard does just as good a job but being winter is harder to find) It came wadded up in plastic wrap and has so many creases and dents I doubt it will ever be a true 1/2 circle. It also appears to have been stored for quite some time in the sun or exposed to who knows what since it has significant doscoloration on one side of the foam under the plastic wrap. Not thrilled but my kid needs something to keep him from flopping on the floor so...

Working so far.
1/13/17 Edit: This is still going strong! My son is a wild sleeper and this has kept him in bed for the past 2.5 years. It hasn't flattened at all and still looks brand new. Great product.Original Review: 9/16/14:My 4 year old son had some issues falling out of bed. I'd hear a big bump and find him still asleep on the floor. After this happening several times I decided to look into a bed rail or bumper pad. I didn't like the look of bed rails so decided to take a chance on this bumper. My son has had no issues with it, and it has successfully kept him in bed. It's made of a soft foam and I've placed it on top of his terry cloth mattress protector and then under the sheet so it doesn't move around at all. It had no odor at all. Only one came in the package but it's very long and I have one side of his bed up against the wall so I only needed one.

Great idea!
I didn't think my daughter would like to have a big rail on her bed and after I read that little girls' hair can get stuck in the metal ones I decided to buy these. They are great. I cut one of them lengthwise to use against the wall so as not to take up too much mattress space and I cut the other one a little shorter so there was a little space at the end of her mattress to be able to climb in and out of her bed. when they came there was a smell to them so I left them outside for a while and the smell dissipated a bit. I think I can still smell them a little bit but through her waterproof mattress cover I can't. And there's no way she's going to accidentally roll over these. The bump is really high.

Best part is
No way a child will fall out of bed with this fabulous bumper. Best part is, it's worth keeping after they grow out of the toddler stage because it doesn't look like a baby gate. It's great, doesn't slip or move around and is comfortable if they bump up against it.

It’s a speed bump for your bed
You know those large, have to go slow over speed bumps that irritate you when you’re driving? This bumper is like that...but in all the right ways!Sleepy children do not have the desire to exert more energy to go over it so they give up or end up half sprawled on it like a beached starfish. Works perfectly.Does come rolled in a small box and take a few hours to reshape back to size / air out. Otherwise perfect.

Does the trick.
This works better than I had hoped. It is a decent height and width. It has kept my toddler in her bed and she is a very squirmy sleeper. It only took a couple of hours to get to it's fill shape after taking it out of the box. And actually because it is so squishable we are taking it on our next family trip to keep her in the hotel bed. I am very confident in this product.

It Works!
Hard to believe this works as well as it does, but my son no longer falls out of his bed since we started using this. Plus, it's less expensive and doesn't look as silly as a traditional bed rail.
