This is a wonderful gift - bought it twice now (for children aged 6). Lovely illustrations, very simple definitions of words that are untranslatable into English - so children learn about geography and different cultures. Very simple concept executed beautifully.

This is a truly beautiful book. Discovering the meaning behind the words and relating to them is wonderful and the illustrations are just stunning-they could be stand alone prints. Worth every penny and makes a fabulous gift for both adults and children.

This has gone in the bin, absolute rubbish. A lot of words I've never heard of and that's saying something at 66 years of age.

What a precious book for children and adults! This is a precious story of words and meanings, especially when the words can’t be exactly translated. Neat explanations and beautiful illustrations round out a great book. What a wonderful word, indeed!

This is a great book to promote love for languages and words. And some of them are Untranslatable. One such word is Jugaad. Glad to have found this book.

As a definite logophile (lover of words) and language enthusiast, I absolutely adored this book. Contains untranslatable words from all over the world to cover everything from "the beauty of nature" to "bad luck" to "tapping someone on the opposite shoulder to trick them." I love the extra info beneath each word too; tells you a lot about the countries and cultures they come from.
