Use these
They separate easily and can be cut to any length. I use these for golf cart under body lighting. Cool effect and easy.

Tape Sucks
So far the Led's have lasted 7 months with about 8 hours of daily use, but the Tape adhesive isn't cut & makes it very difficult to attach.
