light mount
Very cheaply built light mount, ok little harsh. Looks very cool, but is made of flimsy material. Have had for about 3-4 months and is holding up fine. The light on the fork eyelet is the perfect location for shining on the road and keeping the light out of people's eyes.Update November 2013, light mount doing fantastic, so changing review to lightweight, very durable awesome product. I have a mid fork mounted porteur rack and getting a second one for left side. Like mid fork mount better than lower or upper. Hope people weren't chased away by my ignorance, but reviews are people's opinions. This review shows my original and experienced opinion.

A simple and versatile product
It works exactly as advertised. This is a simple and very useful product. I use it because I have a handlebar bag mounted on my bike, therefore I cannot attach lights to the handlebar. This stub can be mounted directly to the fork (if your fork has eyelets for a rack), but I attached it to a small metal bracket which is attached to the bridge of the fork (my bike has discs so there are no brakes there), this allows me to mount my light right in the center of the bike, just over the wheel. On my wife's bike I attached one of these stubs vertically to the rear rack and use it to attach a tail light. My point is this product is very versatile if you like attaching lights or other accessories to your bike.

Great product.
I wanted to move my headlight down from the handlebars for a number of reasons. One was to not blind drivers when they approach me on two lane roads, and to not be shining into cars when I am behind them at traffic lights, or in slow traffic.Another benefit, it really lights up the road in front of me, being closer to the ground. Yes, I get a wheel shadow, but I'll take the improved light on the road any day over that issue. Not to mention the space this little device has cleared up on my handlebars.Just be sure you have mounting bosses on your fork before ordering.

does what it says on the tin
As advertised. The bolt it comes with is the perfect size to screw right into the downtube shifter boss on an old road bike. I may get another one of these and create a dual headlight setup. Knocked off a star because the plastic cap is hard to get off once fully installed, and it feels a little cheap. But it works great - does the job.

Origin 8 Product Well made!
Love the origin 8 stuff. Already have the cargo rack hd and it's perfect so I didn't hesitate on the quality of the stubs. Look at my review for the rack and full bike set up.It's pretty straight forward. You attach these buggers on your braze ons mounts and you have a bit more room to save handlebar space or add some extras. My only advice would be to add a washer on the inside of the bolt and stub for a snug fit. Easiest 30 second accessorie for your bike.I relocated a bell and head light. The light might be on and off due to its position near the wheel where my rack add ons could block ...However a great option when it's a clear path add on for a lighter bag rider. The extra handlebar space allowed me to add a front bag and basket set more efficiently for my grocery runs.Great product. I may buy one more

This works!
Perfect solution to light issue. I have a handle bar bag that gets in the way of the light, so I bought this and mounted it to my fork. Perfect for night trails.

Awesome little nub
This little nub is definitely an impulse buy, but totally worth it! You simply attach this little guy to the front fork of your bike and WHAMO! no more holding onto that pesky headlight.I always hated how my headlight would get in the way of my grip on my bike. This cute little guy takes that hatred of headlamps and turns it into pure love. Made from durable/lightweight aluminum, it comes with a screw that is pre-treated with thread lock. This baby is never coming off on its own! Screw it on and snap the outer cap on and you are in business. I have a TREK headlight that attaches via a rubber strip and it fits this bad boy perfectly. Now my light is exactly where I need it, on the road and not in the way of my hands.

As described
Easy to install. Moved my bike headlight from the handlebars to the fork.

Kept coming loose with the provided bolt; pricey too
A single small-headed bolt was provided to fix the stub to the fork mount, but this turned out to be far from a satisfactory solution in practice - it was too easy for the stub to twist loose under mild provocation, so as a light fixing it was next to useless unfortunately. Really needed a bigger head on the bolt and a washer, I think. An expensive item too for what it is.

Works well..
This stub works well but i get a longer screw and nut from hardware store since my rack eyelet is non threaded ones.
