This is the third desk file I have ordered because it is so well made and sturdy. Recommend!

The desktop file sorter was fairly expensive at thirty three odd dollars. But when it arrived, I could see it was very sturdily built unlike the flimsy desktop organizers that are being retailed at most stores and storefronts.Pros: Very sturdily built solid wood (or wood-like finish, unsure of material)Stylish, elegant finishSix removable separatorsSpace between separators can hold fairly large amounts of paper and maybe small files.No-tool assembly of six separatorsCons: Rather heavy - may impose a strain if housed on glass topped tables.Separators are flexible, so they are not firmly seated, and can be a little wobbly, though this does not impact their functionI will update my review after a six month use-period to determine how well the product holds up. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.Update as of August 2019: Going from four to five stars!This sturdy desktop sorter has held up well to use over a nearly five year period.No scratches, no peeling, and really easy to clean. I bought another one a few months after my original purchase and it has also held up well to use. I initially felt the price was high, but it has been worth every penny. Highly recommended!

I spent (way too long) searching for an attractive inclined file sorter to help organize my ongoing challenge of trying to dig through files stacked vertically. This is a welcome relief. My concern was that the 9" width was not going to be ample enough for file folders but it is more than adequate, and the fit of the vertical slats is snug and solid into the slots of well-machined base. Certainly there are less expensive and lighter mesh variations available, but if you're looking for something solid and attractive, this could fit the bill.

This looks just like the photos. I love the silver color of the Victor desktop organizers and have most of the product line now. They are not tacky metallic, just a low-key but elegant pale silver color. The finish holds up well to a lot of abuse and can easily be wiped clean or dusted.Very elegant and worth the price!I'd include photos but my desk is a disaster.

Let me start off by saying that I absolutely love the Victor Midnight Collection. I currently own the 4-shelf desktop organizer, two letter stacking trays, a set of supply trackers and a pencil cup with note holder. The entire collection is both stylish and durable. The desktop file sorter unfortunately falls short of the quality i've seen from previous Victor purchases.The file sorter looks great. The base unit itself is well constructed and sturdy. My main issue with it is that the removable dividers are, well, removable. I figured that they would be locked into place once inserted, but once you place them into the slots, they wobble around a bit. I need something for things like binders and clipboards, so while this may get the job done, I expected something of higher quality from Victor.As I said, I love the Victor collection, and will continue to purchase other items from them. If you can tolerate the dividers not being entirely secure, then this is a great buy.

I was completely impressed with the look and sturdiness of the organizer. My office leads to the Vice President's office and it is important that my area look at sleek and upscale as possible. These definitely fit that bill! And I like that they have felt tabs on the bottom of each tray so they don't damage the desk or the tray beneath. The brown blends very well with my office furniture too. Thank you.

This is a great file sorter. It is very sturdy. The bottom part is plastic, but it is a very thick, hard plastic. The sorters are made of wood and removable for easy customizing. As a writer, I am using it to sort my different works-in-progress. I large, 5-subject notebooks with outlines along with large binders holding my work to be edited. It is holding up nicely under that kind of weight. It also looks really good on my desk. Could not be happier with my purchase.

A nice, professional looking product with a solid base that isn't going to shift around the desk. It's the first and only Victor product I had to do any assembly for - easiest thing in the world... Grab vertical divider, drop into slot. Tada!Not having the dividers glued-in makes it flexible for if you need a wider slot on part of the unit. The dividers have that nice curved top for added appeal, and they are solid enough that they can support the weight of binders, not just paper. Overall, perfect design with no flaws, well constructed, and with multiple choices of color finish.

this is a nice piece. Instead of files though I use it to place all of my family's IPads and tablets to charge. It holds the weight. Only thing that was negative are that the wooden slats needed to be glued into the base piece for extra stability. I'm sure if you are only storing paper files, the wood slats are removable and would be fine.
