As an adult life-long school marm and secondary English teacher recently retired, I dread the day this Sadlier Program is abandoned because it is "too hard". Most schools have moved on, but a handful of parochial schools still use it. The Greek and Latin origins of words are taught, word parts(prefixes and suffixes) emphasized, "shades of meaning" increasingly introduced; e.g. "persevering" and "stubborn" can have a similar meaning, but "Shades of Meaning"(introduced and developed in the series) impact rhetoric. Critical thinking in short essays supplements the English Literature/Language materials hopefully still taught. This program not only builds vocabulary and aids spelling skills, it helps with critical thinking. Buy it before the wave of ignorance sweeps it out of publication!

This book is a great resource.

First couple of chapters have pencil but overall good quality. As expected
