Truly stunning sounding speakers!
I've had many high end speakers in the past, morel supremo, dls, alpine f1 etc. I had set of the old pioneer ts-c172prs (made in Japan) which cost over £900. Didn't have the heart to have them fitted in my daily driver. Decided to go with these pioneer z series. Honestly they blew me away how they sound. Stunning. So much detail and clarity. If you're thinking of running these off a head unit, don't. They need a decent quality external amplifier, minimum 100w rms per channel to enjoy these at their best. Sound deadening the doors is a must, brings out the midbass. You'll need a external subwoofer as the lower bass response isnt that good. If you're thinking about these, buy them!

I mean, wow, these things have a super bassy sound, and open mids and highs. They are worth every penny.

Excelente set 2 vías pasivo. Los instale con un amplificador D800PRS , un midbass y tweeter x canal, suena muy bien. Comparable con Focal k2 y Hertz mille legend

Finally got these components installed in my 2012 F150. Installed in front doors with MDF adapters. Tweeters were installed in factory location with some modifications. I consider myself an audio snob. I'm more concerned with sound quality than rattling my windows. These components ROCK! I've had Morel, JBL, and Rockford Fosgate, all 6x8/5x7, in my front doors. I finally settled on the Alpine type R. Also a very good SQ speaker. The Alpines now have a home in my rear doors. I haven't even broken these Pioneers in, and they are loud! Excellent mid bass, tweeters aren't too bright, overall sound is crisp and clean. Powered by an NVX JAD 800.4 amp, rated at 125 certified watts per channel, the mids thump. I was shying away from 6.5 speakers thinking I would lose bass. After reading excellent reviews for these pioneers, I figured I would give them a try. I am not disappointed! If you're on the fence about these, do yourself a favor. Buy them, supply them with some power and enjoy! You'll love them!
