What's the difference between this and Refresh Lacrilube?

Refresh Lacrilube has a preservative called Chlorobutanol, which can be harmful to the eye.

How long can the product be used once opened?

I'm not sure once opened, but there's an expiration date on the bottom of the box it comes in. If used nightly, you would more than likely use it up before it expires as it's a very small tube. Eye cosmetics are recommended to change out every three months. You should probably apply the same guideline to this product.

can't unscrew the top off. Any suggestions?

I don't have one handy to confirm this is but there's like a wire under the lid that must be removed to unscrew the cap.

After using this at night, can I wear my soft contact lenses the next morning? Will the oils/lubricant cause problems, coat my lenses? Thanks.

I wear soft contact lenses (the daily kind) and have found no issue. That being said, each morning I gently wash the ointment from my eyelids/eye lashes, pat dry then use eye drops made for contact lense wearers to help remove any residue film from my eye. I also wear my eyeglasses for a short period of time each morning before inserting my contacts but that may not be necessary. If you do not wear daily contacts, then over time I imagine the lubricant eye ointment could build up on contacts so it would be important to thoroughly clean them each night.
