Pretty well made; very effective.
As they advertise, this blower is more robustly built than the cheaper units, and should likewise last longer. I was a little disappointed upon receiving it because it didn't seem to put out that much air (about 1/4 as much as a hair dryer), but I just now used it to stoke the morning coals of my wood burning stove and it was VERY effective. What's more, I only had to crank the handle slowly. It puts out much, much more air than you could by leaning over and blowing with pursed lips. And while my wife said, "I could've just given you my old hair dryer," this is much more convenient because you can control the amount of air blown ... and it has no cords. The old style bellows (nowadays made with cheap vinyl) might've looked cooler, but I'm glad I got this instead.

Great value (cheap and works just fine)! Perfect for starting fires as advertized.
This has a nice easy to operate grip & handle, it is made with cheap plastic & pot metal gears. So what! It does a nice job of producing the perfect breeze for fanning the fire in my fireplace insert. Other devices make clouds of ashes indoors. This is NOT a hair or clothes dryer, but it does a great job of making a light breeze for fanning a fire. Anybody that breaks this with hard cranking or claims that it doesn't make enough wind should go buy an electric hairdryer, or perhaps get a gas blower.I like that it is inexpensive, light, and I have no batteries to worry about charging. I can easily control the air speed from a light zephyr to a steady roar on the fire. I have tried a number of other schemes, from battery operated to regulated compressed air. This is just as good as any other method I have tried for fanning a fire, and it is a whole lot more practical and easy to use.Note to the maker: You might consider adding a slightly smaller metal nozzle for those folks that want a faster stream of air or wish to stand back a bit more from the fire.

Light engineering required
Out of the box it didnt work. Blades were hitting the sides and the turning would intermittently be very difficult to turn. I took it completely apart and found that a lot of the gears had not been secured to their respective post, along with the fan blades being loose and not centered within the chamber.Good news is, I made adjustments and got it back together and it worked great! Moves a good amount of air and does the job. Bad news is this review would have been five stars if I hadn't had to rebuild it because of poor manufacturing quality.

Did not work as advertised
I purchased this in November of 2021 after using an identical designed hand crank air blower that a friend had purchased on Amazon and having good results. The blower I purchased was defective right out of the box. Whatever the interface is between the hand crank and blower mechanism is not working as it should resulting in very little airflow no matter how much effort exerted turning the handle. Also, when turning the handle, a sound equivalent to fingernails on a chalkboard is produced. I came across this last week and made one last attempt to use it while lighting a campfire. I had the same result. I then threw it in the garbage.

IT WORKS, I was surprised.
It took for ever to get it,mine came from China. It does what it's supposed to do,way better than huffing and buffing to get a fire started. Also it better than the bellows blowers fire starters,nice even air flow.

Junk!!
Do not spend your money on this blower you will be sorry. I received it and nothing fits right the handle is very loose because the shaft is one size and the handle is another size. It is extremely noisy and does not have any lubricant in it hence the noise. The chrome blower end they give you does not fit anything so it's useless. I had to really beef mine up to make it function for our camping trip, I was determined to make it work and I did.

Not worth the money
Ordered this product and the first one I was sent, the two pieces did not fit together right. Contacted amazon and sent it back and they sent out a new one. Second one the pieces did fit together. When turning the handle though, it wants to slip out of gear after a few turns and so it doesn't put out enough air. It was a total waste of money.

Low quality, but it WORKS!
At first I thought this was little more than a toy. The body of the blower is made of plastic and the blower mechanism is poorly mounted making turning to crank difficult.However, once you get it going, you can crank it slowly and fairly smoothly as it puts out quite a bit of air and builds your fire quite nicely.Bottom line... for the price, this ain't bad!
