Much better than con 40
Much better than the small converters that came with my pilot pens. Holds a good amount of ink so I don't have to refill as often. I really also like the way it fills. Much easier than the regular twist.

Great Ink Capacity and No Dry Starts. This Converter Just Works!
For me, the Pilot Custom 743 just may be the perfect pen. Substantially the same design and the same nib of the much-vaunted Custom 823, but with a converter instead of the vacuum fill. I don't want a converter so small that I have to fill it after practically every writing session. Still, to paraphrase a 16th Century Italian playwright, 'One should do with lovers exactly as one does with ink colours*: Have many, enjoy them one at a time, and change often.' The CON-70 strikes the perfect balance between ink capacity and change frequency. It fills just fine through the nib and the button, but I find it less messy and more efficient to fill from an ink syringe (easily found on Amazon; I use a 1" needle). Filling from a syringe can lead to dry starts with cheaper pens or different converters, but with the CON-70 and No. 15 nib of the Custom 743 the ink flows immediately and it always writes like a dream without issue. I've seen some people recommend a different converter for each ink colour to avoid transfer issues. I simply use a longer syringe (3-4" needle that can extend to the very back of the converter, pictured) and completely flush out the nib and converter with water between fills. That can leave small water droplets in the CON-70 that could (in theory) dilute the ink in your next fill; you can either blow it out with compressed air or I just leave it to dry overnight. If you want to refill right away, it will likely be just fine a bit wet, or just have a spare CON-70 in reserve (hence why you are here!) The Pilot Custom 743, paired with the CON-70, more than live up to the hype. Happy writing! *the original quote says 'clothes' here. But it holds true for fountain pens, so Guarini will forgive me.

This is the converter you need for your Pilot pen
I was worried that this may not in the Kakuno pen I have, but it certainly does! I was using the Con-40 pistol converter for my Kakuno before, and I felt so defeated... So many people love the Pilot Kakuno pens, how could this be? I'm not a cartridge kind of girl, so if I am going to love a fountain pen, it will need to have a decent converter available. The Con-40 was the first ever converter I purchased for a fountain pen. Previously I was only using pens that had a refillable "tank" of some sort built in, so I didn't have the need... The Con-40 barely holds enough ink to get through one chapter of notes for my chemistry class. Refilling it is a pain. The piston doesn't seem to "want" to drink up the ink. Like the seal may be imperfect. I'm not sure, but regardless, the ink capacity was abysmal. This converter is perfect. The mechanism for filling it is a little odd, but it's actually even more intuitive than the twist-type. I have found myself accidentally twisting piston the wrong way at the worst possible moments... The mechanism that this Con-70 converter has involves a little button on the end, and a tiny stopper in the middle of the tank. By pushing the button, the stopper is pushed outward. Release the button, it's pulled inward. It creates a vacuum to suck up the ink more like a syphon. There is no twisting involved. I could see this being better for individuals that struggle with twisting tiny little plastic components to refill their pens (maybe due to impaired vision, tactile sensation in the hands, arthritis, etc.). You push the converter into the little feed inside the pen, then dunk the nib of the pen into a vial of ink, and just push the button until it fills up. It took me maybe a dozen button presses before it filled up with ink, but at least a few presses were not quite right. I believe one needs to hold the pen horizontally into the ink, as straight as possible, and be sure that the little hole/intake area on your nib is totally submerged in the ink. If the thing confuses you on how to fill it up, just search for a YouTube video. I watched all of 10 seconds of one video and immediately understood what I needed to do. My last photo compares the con40 to the con70. I tried to align the con40 to where it actually fits into the nib feed... Not only is the storage tank much shorter than the con70, it is also quite a lot narrower. I would reckon that the con70 can easily hold double the amount of ink, especially since you can't even fill the con40 all the way!

Works great! Fills fast

Good alternative to cartridges
Good alternative to cartridges. Holds more ink so less expensive and lasts longer between refills which is essential in art as opposed to writing.

Amazing ink capacity, a pain to clean.
I got the CON-70 to go along with my Pilot Custom 74 and I've been using it for a good few months now. I've decided to write this review in two different sections. Lets start with the cons. Cons (heh get it... cons): - The first thing I disliked about this converter was the price, it feels like too much to spend on a converter - My biggest peeve with this converter has to be its cleaning. Cleaning this converter is such a pain. Any time you want to switch inks, in particular from black to a lighter color, you pretty much have to completely take apart the converter and clean it out. There are a few videos on this process on YouTube you may want to look at when you need to do this for yourself. I've found that just flushing with water a few times will not completely clean it, a soak and sonic cleaner may get the job done without taking the pen apart though. That pretty much sums up my negative feelings on this converter. Now for all the things I love about it! - Its a piston filler!! That alone is a pretty awesome addition to any beginner collection of fountain pens. - It has a massive ink capacity. If this is going to be for your every day writer and you need massive amounts of ink or you just hate refilling your pen then this converter is amazing. - It has a clear base so you can see the amount of ink you have left. I have a love hate relationship with this converter. I love it because its beautiful, big, and fun to fill. My only real problem now that I have it on my pen is that I wont switch colors as often because of the hassle of cleaning out the converter. If you're getting this for a pen that you are going to be using every day and not changing the color on a lot I couldn't recommend this converter enough. If you're going to be changing ink a lot you may want to go with something like the CON-50.

Better alternative to the CON-40
Way better than the CON-40 Far easier to fill, has a bigger ink capacity and fits into most pilot pens, there’s really no reason to choose to CON-40 over this converter unless it doesn’t fit your pen

Good size
Way bigger capacity than the con 40. Highly recommend.

Calidad incuestionable.

Highly recommended for Pilot Parallel Pen
I have been looking for this replacement for my Pilot Parallel Pen(5mm). Pilot Fountain Pen Converter (CON-70) is a new design and work perfectly for my purpose. Highly recommended. This part convert a cartridge calligraphy pen to a tool that can use ink fluid of your own choice. Will's Quills

Ten konwerter NIE PASUJE do pióra Prera
Nigdzie w opisie nie znalazłam informacji, do których piór ten konwerter się nadaje. Do Prery jest za długi. Spędziłam mnóstwo czasu próbujac się tego dowiedzieć, ale ta informacja jest najwyraźniej tajna. A wystarczyłoby napisać to w opisie pióra...

Top!
Der Konverter tut was er soll, sitzt straff und sieht auch ganz vernünftig aus (ich nutze ihn in einem transparenten Preppy).
