I have a very fine scratche on my bathroom mirrors. Will this work? Can it do more damage?

Probably would work but would take you long time. Primarily used to polish optical glass. On a camera lens it took me and hour to polish out faint cleaning marks. Will not work on deep scratches.

Will it work on house windows? They are thinner than windshields, and I worry about cracking the window while buffing.

Yes, Cerium Oxide can be used on any glass, even household windows. Check the depth of your scratches, if you run your nail across the scratch and it catches at all, those scratches are too deep for removal. Be sure to keep the area damp and avoid overheating which can occur when the product has dried during use. Will it remove fine pits caused from sand hit the windshield?

Likely. Just know that this process takes FOREVER. So be patient

Will this remove acid etched graffiti?

All depends on depth of etching and how long you are willing to polish.
