This is a special edition watch and I think they wanted to have a screw down back on it to add to it’s appearance it is a beautiful watch and it is being sold for a great cause. The metal back adds nothing to the weight really but if it bothers you buy another Luminox watch with a Carbonox back but if you want to contribute to a great cause this is a great watch and I highly recommend it.🇺🇸
