iConnectivity iConnectAUDIO4+ Interface

I could not get a decent signal through headphones and the apps (rather confusingly there are two) simply did not work. I have spent 25 years in recording and would expect most products to work out of the box. After 2 fruitless time wasting hours I gave up. Thankfully I did not have a frustrated drummer waiting for me to get my act together. My £40 Behringer worked straight out of the box. For £260 I'd expect the same. AVOID. p.s. To any audio interface manufacturers reading this - please make a decent multiple input product for iPad at a reasonable price please. We aren't all Ed Sheeran wannabes - I need to record rock and roll bands.

The fact that this product can link my iPad and iMac together is amazing.Still trying to figure out the audio connectionmapping capabilities but other then that it’s fantastic.

I've been using this on and off for a couple of years now with my Mac and iPad. A remarkably solid and well built bit of kit with four decent Mic preamps (also take line or hi-z) and six outputs (the stereo headphone out is configurable however you want it). It is definitely giggable and has never let me down. If I'd written this review a couple of months after I bought the device it would have probably only got two or three stars as the iConfig software is not the easiest to wrap your head around and in this day of instant everything it's hard to accept that the price of this sort of broad feature set and amazing versatility is a steep learning curve. I'm glad I stuck with it though as the iCA4+ is worth its weight in gold! Sadly I see this device going the way of the dodo but if anyone out there has the opportunity to buy one and needs to get audio and midi at high quality into and out of any combination of iOS, Mac or PC.... buy it!

This seems expensive but I can connect two separate computers(each is assigned their own USB sound module) via, record to them separately. I can also, at the same time, connect my iPad for channel FX, and use soft synths. The audio is rewired internally between all 3 devices if need be. Add to this the various IO(Midi/TRS) and almost zero latency then you begin the appreciate the device as a bargain!

There's lots to like about this and lots to dislike.Likes- compact versatile 4 in 4 out design- connects iOS devices and charges them at the same time- this was the selling point for me- and connects another computer at the same time- having a separate midi input to connect your keyboard of choice via USB as well as having midi in and out and the ability to connect a multi usb powered connector to multiple external sound sources provides for endless possibilities- there’s nothing else on the market providing similar capability- great support team addressed all of my queries quicklyDislikes- the iConfig app is hard to understand and not for the novice user although support will put you right if you get stuck- not sure if the headphone provides direct out capability, this isn’t clear but you can route a separate mix - I’ve not ventured this far yet- NO ON/OFF switch - much needed enhancement- iConfig sometimes disconnects and everything stops working impacting the creativity flow - why such reliance on the iConfig software - what if I want to use stand alone?- for a product that’s been out a while, you’d think a better user friendly robust app would be developedI’m still experimenting and I’m impressed by the routing capability offered by this box.
