This is the same as my Victor 100 that I have had for 40 years. Unfortunately, the Victor is wore out and it would cost the same as buying this set to have repaired. My Victor tips and handle will fit this new unit so I can still use them. This is not a heavy duty cutting/welding set. I think it will cut 1/4 steel without any problems but I would not attempt 1/2" without some major preheating. All in all, this is a great deal for the money. This set does not come with anti-backfire valves that need to be ordered separately. Never run without them.

Just as described. Will be mounting them on my tanks today. All parts and accessories are accounted for. Definitely would buy again!

Regulators: I've owned this set for over a year now... I should've returned them. I had to use these right out of the get go and then periodically. I miss my old ones. These are cheap, and they're made cheap! Do these regulate the gas, technically, but not for long, like minutes. The regulators started hissing within an hours use. The literal gauges, are not accurate, the plastic lens on them came scratched, missing one, and popped off within later use. The gauges faceplates are warped and rusting. And just by trying to tighten the gauge, twisted the gauge housing...cheap Hoses: also bad, not as bad, did they last a year... No... They lasted about 2 months. They looked good out of the box, didn't last. They very quickly became cracked and sun damaged? Even though they're in a shop, or kept in the box, very odd....... CHEAP. Is the torch at least good?... Also.. no, first-out of the box, it was missing parts, as in the tips, flanges, and a union. Complete useless. Luckily I had my older set and put those missing pieces on this set. The valve in this torch sticks, so sometimes is on full oxygen, or no oxygen. And the cast material it's made out of, seems like if you drop the torch it will break, and out of commission. Would I recommend this set . Absolutely not. Zero chance. I've been bamboozled. I'm going to rebuild by Victor set.

In general the set was adequate for a DYI welder, but there are a few comments I would like pass along. First, the control knobs feel loose and are easy to bump and change the flame settings. I haven't tried adjusting them yet as the documentation did not cover that process. It may be that simply tightening the knobs retaining collar will fix the problem. Second, the goggles provided are flimsy so I use my old goggles which have been serving well for about 50 years. Third, the striker was also flimsy, but did at least work. I have older items that work well so it is a small problem. Otherwise the assortment of tips was good.
