18" is the height of the bag - the handle extends further.

Check Chubbiee bag tags on amazon. They are of good quality with very cute patterns. I use them for everything my kids bring to kindergarten and preschool.

Q: does this fit under the seat in an airplane?

It’s only been used for packing for a weekend trip to Nana’s house. But I would assume it would.
