Geo-Business: GIS in the Digital Organization

So this is a course book for one of my classes. It is very practical and encompassing. It takes you from what GIS is and its components into the Business world and what programs are available that are comparable (like SDS and BI) and then plenty of real company examples of how GIS has been incorporated into business structures. Its an easy read with plenty of diagrams and images. (because we all know what small tiny print on transparent paper equals to. a nap. it equals to nap time.) :) Anyhow, good book. Lots of case studies with a variety of businesses and GIS applications.

A very good book on GIS and how it is and could be applied within business rather than for Geology. For those wanting a more practical understanding, this is one of the better books on this subject that is not tied to a vendors product. The author does a very good job on explaining and providing examples.

My professor openly admitted that the text was basically horrible. We were required to get the textbook for a total of 1 assignment. Clearly a scam on the part of my university to promote sales of the text, since the author is a professor there.Unless the author is your professor, get together with your classmates to share the text and save the money.

This book needs to be updated badly

I have found all most all the books i bought for college boring, however this one had to of been by far the most boring book i ever read. Lots of good information, just dry as hell. Good luck staying awake with this one.

Not well written. Many grammar errors.

Educators, please stay away from this text. It's 2017 and the information put forth in this publication is extremely out of date. In addition to the outdated information, this text is comprised of shortwinded sentences of the driest form. It contains 'filler' information that has no relevance and would be better without.

Arrived on time and as described. This was required for school so no opinion on how good it is. Only useful for test taking.
