Insanely disappointing
So my 2017 Sennheiser Game One mic snapped. Time for a change. I watched and read so many reviews before buying these. Constant recommendation. I knew the flaws before buying this but I honestly didn't expect how bad these are. To make it short - the ONLY good thing about these is sound. And yeah, you want headphones to have good sound BUT hear me out: You have to suffer/sacrifice so much to have that sound it's not worth it for me. I feel these on my head non stop. They're heavy. So heavy that I had to catch them twice when they slipped from my head when I looked at the floor. I am NOT joking. And you'd think I have a small head. I don't. And so another thing - the band pressure. They really push those ear cups into your head. Too much. I don't have sticking ears and yet they touch the drivers, giving me pain after some time. I bought thicker ear pads but that's another 30GBP. 0/5 for comfort. There is NO comfort. Utility? So many buttons on this thing and I can't switch between Bluetooth and dongle? Manual says that these will switch output when they sense sound from phone. They don't. Not always. I had them stay connected to dongle because I had an open browser. That seemed to "reserve" signal from the dongle. I had to pull it out of the PC. This connectivity is from 2010. 2/5 Utility Mic. My friends immediately told me I sound worse. My Sennheisers from 2017 for nearly half the price (180GBP at the time) have a pristine mic. This one is really bad FOR THE PRICE. Unacceptable. 3/5 MIC Closed back - I just found out I absolutely hate closed back headphones. That's on me but I cannot hear anything outside, I feel like I do have speakers pressed against my ears. I don't feel like the sound is around me as well as it is on open-back headphones. Ok, for sound. It took me 2 days to fiddle with sound settings on my pc. All games sounded worse initially. Some still do. I can't believe it. Why? Because some games accept 3D audio and some don't. So you have to first buy Dolby Atmos from Microsoft store to SOMETIMES use it, and it costs around 15GBP. But switching between Battlefield 6 and Forza Horizon 6 means I have to go to Windows settings and disable Atmos for Forza and re-enable it for Battlefield. And I don't even feel that it makes a huge difference to begin with. 3/5 for gaming The only positive experience I have with these is lying on my bed and listening to music on my phone. I'll be honest - I've never heard sound this beautiful with perfect Bass. 5/5 for music.

Sound is very good, BUT! niggling issues....
The headphones are clearly damaged, but they wanted a picture of that damage, and still did not get a free returns label. In my humble opinion, i do have to say that the sound was extremely good when listening to music from the pc. But then i went outside (3 storey house) as it was a nice day and paired my headphones to my mobile, no problem there. But, every few seconds i would get this irritating voice message telling me that the connection had failed. I don't care that i cant connect to my pc 3 storeys up. Most annoying! When pairing to the pc, you have to set the dongle to pc, then use a small paperclip to stick in the hole until the light flashes, this did not happen. Had these headphones worked well without software issues, i would have kept them, but i can't be doing with annoying messages. I don't suppose that everybodys ears are in the same place, but there is little if no real adajustment up/down on the earpiece. I never got to game with these, real shame as this is why i wanted them. I shall keep using my B&O headphones in the meantime. Big Shame :(

Good sound picture
Perfect headphone, comparing to previous model, this one have better mid and high frequency, but worst bass. I had to use them few days before to start like them. Still Maxwell 1 have more impressive sound(from my perspective).

Absolutely Superb Performance and a Quality Headset, bar none!!!!!!!!!!!!
the Audeze Maxwell line is genuinely in a different class from most gaming headsets, especially if you care about durability, long sessions, and sound quality. Given my preferences for sturdy, comfortable, long-lasting headsets, the Maxwell II seems like a very strong fit because it combines: 1). Planar magnetic drivers, which usually give cleaner detail, tighter bass, and lower distortion than typical dynamic-driver gaming headsets. 2). Long battery life, which is a major quality-of-life upgrade. 3). Low-latency wireless support, useful for gaming without feeling disconnected from the action. 4). A more premium build, which matches anyone's preference for durable gear rather than lightweight plastic headsets. Good comfort for extended use, especially if you do not mind headset weight as much as long-term sturdiness and comfort. (for me, I don't notice weight, they feel pretty good for me). 5). Compared to other headset brands, the Maxwell II is more of a high-end audiophile/gaming hybrid: better sound resolution, stronger bass control, and a more premium overall feel. There is still solid mainstream gaming headset, but it is a matter of personal preference, but the Maxwell II is the kind of headset that can make music, movies, and games all feel noticeably upgraded.
