Great for severe diaper rash!
Our infant had a diaper rash that would not clear up from any diaper cream or even the hospital made rash ointment. This with the Cavilon cream was the only thing that healed it! He had open wounds that wouldn’t heal with airing out or constant changing. Would highly recommend for severe diaper rash. Research “crusting” for diaper rash to know how to apply with the spray. Took care of the rash in about 3 days.

Good All-Around Product
I'm using this to help dry and maintain the skin around an ileostomy stoma. The skin sees some slight wear and tear from the ostomy bag flanges between changes, and careful treatment is necessary tp prevent any serious skin damage. The main issue is keeping the area dry, dry, dry before changing your appliance. This stoma powder goes on with a gentle squeeze of the bottle and comes out in a soft line without scattering. It doesn't puff up like talcum powder does. Then I just rub it gently to get full coverage over the flange area. This powder is a little gritty (maybe a 2 on a ten scale where talcum is a one), but that seems to help absorb the skin moisture around the stoma. It will also stick to any remaining sealant residue, helping you identify what you may have missed with an adhesive cleaner. It leaves the skin nice and dry, but you do have to remove it with a cleaner or a wet cloth before putting a new skin barrier/flange on. Removal with a non-water based wipe (with no alcohol also) such as Safe 'n Simple peristoma wipes is easy. The powder has no scent and it does not sting the skin. This 1 ounce bottle lasts me through 6-8 weeks of appliance changes. A good product at a good price.A side note: Convatec will include a bottle of this powder with their sample kit. Just go to their web sit to request the free samples.

Good but found to be unnecessary
I'm a novice at wearing ostomy bags and was having issues with irritated skin around the stoma and the bag. I thought that this was the solution but found that the bags did not adhere as well when I used it. I started using an adhesive wipe that offered skin protection and better adhesion of the bag's adhesive collar. So I would recommend using Skin Tac Wipes.

Game changer for healing process
Bought this product after watching YouTube video of a mother taking care of toddler w/ excessive drainage bcz surgeon made stoma site too big. My case same reason; causing excessive raw & painful granulated tissue continue growing. When stoma is too big, tube moves around a lot; creating friction & small tears which leads to repeated growth/healing as well as some bleeding & drainage discharge. Once I started using this product, the raw granulated tissue eventually started to diminish (approximately one week). The powder is fine, similar to talcum powder, & the opening is a little larger than a pinhole. This helps keep the powder localized when applying. A little bit goes a long ways. It soaks up the drainage & keeps it from spreading out more around the stoma site; diminishing moisture from spreading out & allowed the red/irritated breakdown of surrounding skin to heal. I use a 2 x 2 sterile split gauze & tape it down to the bumper. I have to tape my bumper down, otherwise it moves around too much & can be painful for me. Excessive moving creates small tears & more drainage; which doesn’t allow for proper healing to occur. I do have to rotate around where I tape the bumper down to the skin to minimize the breakdown of the skin surrounding the bumper.I would’ve given it 5 stars but one thing I have noticed is that I still have to change my dressing 2 - 3 times/day. Although drainage has lessened, it makes it smell a little bit sour/pungent. It’s not a deal breaker & hasn’t increased number of dressing changes. Just wished it would have decreased the number of times of m gauze dressing changes. The drainage gets a little gooey/gel like which is why it keeps the moisture from spreading. But it does make it a little harder to clean off the tube & from around the stoma site. I just take a bottle of sterile saline rinse & squirt it down real well to get it wet. Then, I take a clean wet warm washcloth to gently clean it off the area. After cleaning it, make sure to dry off the area first before applying this product.I’ve tried using the waxy adhesive skin barrier this product brand sells as well. However, it was more trouble than it was worth. It’s supposed to last 4 to 6 days something like that… After a day, mine started to roll back around the outside part. Plus it made it harder to clean around the stoma as it doesn’t really adhere as much as it should & drainage still gets up underneath it. The adhesive used in the waxy barrier isn’t any better than using tape in terms of causing irritation to the surrounding skin it adheres to. So for me, it’s a hard pass on that product. Calculating the cost and the longevity, to me was waste of money. This product does not stop the drainage from occurring. For me however, it helped w/ the drainage; turned it into more of a gel like substance which then adhered to the gauze pad(keeping it more localized). I started seeing a significant decrease in the raw granulated tissue growth around the stoma site after started using it. Even my G.I. doctor was amazed how well it looked. I was amazed that the doctor didn’t know anything about this product. I honestly feel like I’ve been on my own trying to figure out how to navigate life w/ a feeding tube & finding what I can to assist me w/ the ongoing maintenance. I will likely buy this product again.
