I bought this for a specific reason - to sand a daggerboard I'm making for my sailing dinghy. I've probably used it for about an hour in total and the hooks (as in hook and loop, or velcro) on the baseplate have got squashed in the middle from sanding the edge of the daggerboard (probably from heat transfer by sanding in one spot on the sander base for too long). Now it seems to be pot luck if a sanding sheet sticks to the base or not. So, it's great for sanding flat surfaces - but if sanding an edge then you need to vary the position of the base in relation to what's being sanded to prevent damage. Would I buy another - yes, I would - but I'd use a different sanding technique to prolong the life of the plastic velcro hooks on the base plate.** Update **The supplier, Tooleader Direct EU, contacted me in response to my original review and pointed out that the product is under 24 month warranty and they have offered me a replacement - which I have accepted. In light of this outcome I have re-rated this review from 3 stars to 5. That's what I call service.

Perfect sander, i put this to use as soon as it came, I had many kitchen cupboard doors to sand down for painting and this sander did the job really well, is light to use, not too noisy, great control, very comfortable in the hand, really well made, love how you can turn the base around to get into those tight spaces that an ordinary sander cant, should last quiet a while, i purchased some sanding discs as well but sadly they were the wrong ones, was still able to use them on my old sander so not a complete loss, but other than that you cant go wrong with this sander. 5 stars all the way.

This is a handy little sander, good for small hands and quite versatile. I quite liked it. Unfortunately, mine went wrong pretty quickly (the base wouldn't turn) and had to be returned. However, the customer service is excellent and because the rotatable base is important to me and the sander is so useful I will be getting a replacement of the same unit.

Very happy with this sander which was a replacement for another model with a troublesome dust collector which fell off every minute after it was attached.This sander did everything I needed it for and I'm more than happy with it. I did notice that if you leave the machine running that the pads I bought would share off, however I quickly realised that if I switched off sander when not actually sanding this didn't happen and pads remained secure, the loose ones would fix tight once sanding with pressure resumed.

Feel very solid when using. Sand pads are easily replaced and the dust collector makes it more tidy than other sanders available. Recommend!

Bought this to sand most of the wood for a playground before it was assembled. The wood had been sitting around for month outside so had all sorts of debris and in 1-2 pieces was dampish still.The sander worked an absolute treat. Trick very much seems to be to just apply enough pressure to hold it in place/move it where you want it to go. It does the rest of the work for you.The sander worked really well - often for an hour at a go with little downtime in between sanding. The paper provided is very good quality and the entire job was completed without needing more than 1-2 sanding pads.I haven't had any issues with the main pad being damaged etc but can see that the more pressure you apply, the more risk of the pad getting damaged. I didn't use the angle adjuster to switch the pad in a different direction.Niggles:-The dust collector is a bit fiddly and ideally I would recommend a suction option that takes the dust away.The vibration can be a bit much especially if you're doing lots of sanding but manageable with breaks This device is for smooth sanding/even sanding - it doesn't really allow you to get into cracks etc with lots of pressure to 'spread' unevenness or debris away...it is a sander! So a chisel etc may be required if you've got some really tough bulky bits on a piece of wood that need removing.OVERALL would highly recommend this product. Have bought out Tacklife products - get the job done with no frills and decent value for money.

Used for the first time today. Easy and lightweight to use, though I found the dust extractor hard to get open to empty.It works well, but there is still a fine film of dust in the air and on the windowsills that I was sanding. But that is a huge ask really... of course there going to be !! I was just hoping not 🤨 (idiot!)A fab buy for the money. Yes I would buy again.

Great little sander with plenty of power for the job. My dislike however is that the sanding pads don't stay on the sander very long, which means you don't get the full benefit of the sanding paper itself, when there is more than sufficient sanding life left on the paper itself. That's the most disappointing thing about this item.
