It works for both charging and data, but it’s a little loose. It doesn’t hold is firmly as the OEM cable.

Bought to resurrect an old Sony Walkman - Works fine charging and for data transfer, good price and quick delivery - what's not to like?

Great cable. But shame Sony still makes product specific propriety cable connectors!
Affordable replacement cable and it does the job for what you need - to connect to your device that, Sony, in this day and age, still refuse to conform to a universal standard and continue to stick it to their customers with the need to use propriety cables from one product to another..... It's times like these when I look in our cable draw and see so many different 'Sony' cables that are product specific, that I question myself to what compelled me to buy another Sony product..? ...rock on Sony... rock on.

Very happy with this!
VERY pleased. Works for my NW-A45, and a very good price too. Walkman has appeared in Windows 10, after plugging it in, and I've not tried a file transfer yet, but no reason to think why it should be any different or slower than the original. Seems a perfect additional cable. Of course, if Sony did not insist on proprietary cables, I would not have needed to buy it!
