I've been using it almost daily for about two weeks and I'm pretty happy with it.
I bought this to replace a very old, reliable, Kryptonite Series 2 ATB (5x9"). My new bike has an extra wide frame and it barely fit into the 5" wide U-lock on a typical bike rack. The U-lock was unusable on larger or less uniformly shaped structures. Very few U-locks are wider than 4" (bottle jack attacks make them useless) and 5" was the very largest I could find. The 85cm version of this Abus chain lock has a few more overall inches than my 5x9" U-lock and it is flexible making it much easier to use. According to tests/reviews, it is more secure than a Series 2 chain but not as secure as a Series 4 chain and it is lighter than both. I initially bought a Series 4 chain lock which was over 6lbs. I didn't even take that one out of the package it was so heavy. The Abus is about 4lbs which is still pretty heavy. With the 85cm I can do a triple coil around the seat post and it isn't that noticeable. It's long enough that I can often put it through my front wheel and around my top tube which leaves only an inch or so of slack. You have to pull on the lock collar to disengage it after unlocking. This is hard to do with one hand so between that and the weight and the flexibility, this is definitely a two hand lock. It clicks in and latches easily when locking so I find that process easier. The old Series 2 kept me secure for many years (I never leave my bike out overnight) so I am pretty confident in the Abus 1010. Chain locks tend to droop so a good tip is to lock it in a way that keeps it far off the ground which will make is harder to cut through because a thief can't easily use the ground and his full weight for leverage. I've been using it almost daily for about two weeks and I'm pretty happy with it.

Tough enough for daytime use
Why not five stars? A couple of things that one cannot know from looking at online pictures. The first is weight. It's listed at a little over four pounds, but that's something that must be experienced on the bicycle. It is noticeable. Second, although it's listed at 33 inches, the useful inner perimeter is much less. It's no bigger than a 12 inch U-lock and the U-locks of the same price are lighter and more secure. That said, the chain is strong enough to resist all but the biggest bolt cutters. The lock is near impossible to pick. The cloth cover seems durable and the plastic coated ends assure that no bare metal will scratch or nick the paint. We prefer having a chain for those awkward lock-ups where a U-lock can't be threaded through two bicycles. If I had the option to do it over I think I would purchase the 110cm version. The extra reach is worth the additional pound.

Heavy-duty lock!
So far this lock has kept my e-bike safe for 4 months in a town that has a lot of bike thefts. It isn't the most convenient to carry around, but the weight and bulk seem to deter anyone from messing with my bike. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Best lock for your city bike!!!!
I swear by Abus locks! They make the most secure products out there! I use this lock on my high quality city road bike. It is not long enough for me to secure both wheels and frame to a post, so I just secure the rear wheel and frame to a post and use a U-Lock to secure the front wheel and frame to a post.

Practical and sturdy
Great buy! Sturdy enough for brief stops, just the right weight and length to carry wrapped around seat post, long enough to go through fat ebike front wheel, tube and around a tree trunk or pole.

Excellent quality
My advise is: don't lose the key, you'll never get it off (LOL)

Heavier than I expected, but bulletproof
Definitely feel like my £650 bike is totally safe, any time of day, even overnight.I wear this around my (pretty slim) waist, which is super convenient. That's why I chose the 85cm.This is borderline a motorbike chain; super heavy - probably half the weight of my modern racing bike if not more.

The lock failed to work on the key
This lock worked OK for 9 months and then for some reason the key would not operate the lock. I tried everything to get the key to work but to no avail. Luckily I was in the process of locking the bikes up so did not have to get someone in to open the assembly or cut the chain!!!! - I have only just got around to reporting this. I'm not happy that such an expensive lock can fail and will tell ABUS

Good supplement to a D-lock
I already own a Kryptonite Evolution Series 4 Standard Lock with EZMount Bracket , but the standard advice is to use two different locks (apparently thieves tend to carry tools for just one specific type of lock). The Abus chain lock is pretty tough and is (obviously) more flexible than a D-lock, so is useful by itself when the item I want to attach the bike to is too big for the D-lock. It's also easy to carry on a bike - just double-wrap the chain around the seat post.I was hoping it might lock itself automatically when inserting the two chain lock pieces together, but in fact you need the key both for unlocking and locking - it's not a big deal anyway. Very pleased with the quality of the lock and would buy one again. Kryptonite Evolution Series 4 Standard Lock with EZMount Bracket

Practical but Fatally Flawed
Functioned for 5 years -- 85cm is a length that works for almost all situations, and the lock never stuck.... however ...Thief sadly seemed to know this lock has a fatal weak point between the strong chain and strong lock.

Gold standard lock
Heavy but strong lock. Gold standard means it qualifies for bike insurance for more expensive bikes.
