Pretty good. Some complainers probably didn't read instructions.
So far so good. People who complained about odor probably didn't read the instructions, which very clearly say to put it outside and turn it on high for a little while when you first get it to burn off a coating (presumably oil on the cast iron). I got this because NONE of the alleged plastic-free electric kettles really are, so I decided to go the old fashion way with a separate hot plate and kettle. I like that this has simple mechanical controls without electronics, computers, LEDs, touchpads, or other gimmicky razzle-dazzle, all of which always gives out pretty quick. Being a utilitarian sort I don't usually comment on appearance, but I have to admit, this looks elegant. I still haven't found a good kettle to put on it because, just like with the electric ones, even some of the plain glass kettles have plastic parts despite claiming the contrary, but that's not the fault of the hot plate. It works great. I'll find a decent glass kettle eventually and meanwhile this is mutipurpose. If it doesn't last, I'll revisit this and let you know. That's the thing that makes Amazon's reviews more credible than, for example, Ebay's, IMO, that you can revise them. Fri 7 Nov 2025

Honest Review
I would give this product a perfect rating for its outstanding quality, but it is important to note that no product is perfect. Neutral: Of course mentioned in the description about the item, they mention that for the first couple of uses you will have smoke coming out of the hot plate (burning a coating off of some coils I believe). This isn't a problem, just something to be aware of when you get your product so you are not alarmed. Good: The hot plate is big enough for most pots and pans. A lot bigger than some that I've seen. I have no problem with consistent and even heating. Some stovetop burners aren't quite as large as this one, leaving the corners of your pan warm at best, but not with this hot plate. It heats up very fast and works as advertised. Bad: The hot plate can get extremely hot which heats up the air around it and can potentially be uncomfortable to cook over at high temperature settings. The hot plate takes quite a while to cool back down which makes quick storage problematic. Overall, I feel that this product was very honestly advertised and the "problems" I found with the heat can be expected, it's a hot plate afterall. This is a great product overall, you get what you see here. The seller seems to have provided honest information on the product.

Works Very Well, Stays Very Hot Quite a While After Turning Off
This hot plate works very well and as expected. The cord is also a good solid quality plug that inspires confidence for the long haul. The design of the on/off and temperature control is excellent. The heating surface is a great size and the hot-plate footing is solid even with a good size heavy pot. The only negative is just how long the burner stays VERY hot. To give you an idea, I boiled a 2 quart pan of water on it to make sure things were working. After that came to a boil, I turned off and unplugged the hot-plate, emptied the water into the sink, rinsed the pan in cold water to cool the pan off and filled it with cold water. I then placed the cooled pan half filled with cold water back on the hot-plate. The residual heat lasted long enough to heat the water to a point it was very uncomfortable to touch! I emptied the pan again, filled with cold water again, there was *still* enough heat to warm the half filled pot *again*. Nuts! :)

Great hotplate and seller
This is an awesome hot plate for sure. Heats up very fast and boils water pretty quickly, which I was pleasantly surprised by. I especially like the left knob being an on/off switch and the right the temp gauge. Would definitely recommend bc the price is very affordable and the product is well made.

Update: It didn't last!!
I purchased the Cusimax hot plate as a backup to a simpler hot plate that I was using at the time. Eventually, that hot plate failed and I turned to the Cusimax. It worked well for a few months, until now. Now, when I turn the power knob on the light comes on, and it heats up to MAX, while the temperature knob is still off. It makes a clicking noise that It didn't make before. I haven't even used it for six months and I have to replace it. When I first removed it from the package, I noticed that the word "ON" was partially missing. That made me skeptical about the quality. When I plugged it in, it was a very tight fit, and unplugging it was worse. I had to use force to pull it out of the socket. It worked though, so I overlooked those imperfections. I thought I had something sturdy that would last for years. I even thought that when I didn't need it anymore, I would give it to someone who could use it. Now I wonder if it is a product that wasn't made to last long at all. In other words, made cheaply. Update 2: I received a replacement burner right away, and was told to not even return the first one. They do heat up very impressively. Just like the first one, the quality is dismal. The power knob when turned off, to the left, just keeps going. That happened right away. Also, when a bit of food ends up on the unit, which is bound to happen, and is scraped off, even lightly with a fingernail, paint comes off with it. Furthermore, the characters on the temperature knob are so thin that even a young person has to lean over and get close to make them out. Because of my experiences with this brand, I will not even consider the brand for any other product.

Severe Use, Great burner. Variable heat. DOESNT NEED INTERNET OR UPDATES!!! \o/
Great balance between size, portability and electric use. I have left it on for.. forever with nothing on it. I've spilled stuff on it repeatedly. I've use it basically way beyond i think even its design.... it replaced an oven and 4 burner cooktop for 100% of my cooking. I enjoy the thermostat and on off knobs. I have worn the ink off them but i still love them. It gives quite a bit of variability for heat. Works amazing with a huge 14-inch cast iron pan. The best part, doesn't need internet! No forced updates! Can't get banned from it for racism! Hahahahahahaha. GREAT BURNER! WORKS! THEN WORKS AGAIN! MIGHT EVEN WORK FOREVER! :D

Great at First, But Becomes a Safety Hazard
I've had this hot plate for four months, and at first, I really loved it. It heated up quickly, worked well, and was easy to clean. I did notice that the knobs would get really hot, but I didn’t think much of it since the whole thing is metal. Today, when I pulled it out to cook, I saw that all four feet on the bottom had completely melted. Then, while using it (because I still needed to), the plastic holding the metal temperature control knob melted entirely, and the knob fell off. On top of that, the hot plate struggled to maintain a consistent temperature—it would just shoot up to the max and stay there. I’m really disappointed because I enjoyed using it for the first few months, but it just gets way too hot. EDIT: I’m updating my review by one star to acknowledge that they reached out and offered to refund my purchase due to what happened. It’s clear they value customer feedback, and that means a lot to me.

Worth the extra money
I don't typically review things on amazon but I was very impressed with this thing. We're in the middle of a kitchen remodel so I had looked at other cheaper hot plates before but I was turned off due to their reviews saying how they were unstable and couldn't get hot enough to boil water. Anyway, I finally caved and bought this one. SO GLAD I DID. Turned it on for about 10-15 min as recommended in the start up guide before starting to cook on it. There was an odor at first but it did dissipate by the time I started cooking on it. I placed it in our currently unheated kitchen and it was starting to warm that corner of the room, that's how warm the hot plate got on only medium heat. The temperature dials were a little hot, not hot enough that you couldn't change the temperature but uncomfortable enough you wouldn't want to leave your hand on it. We decided to test it with a pot of tomato soup. Within a minute or so the soup was bubbling. Since it is a cast iron plate it is not super responsive to dialing down the temperature because the iron retains heat. However, it appeared to heat quickly and evenly (again due to it being cast iron). I can see this still being used after our remodel is over as an extra burner or for camping.

Actually powerful enough for a 4-hour roast (and big soup pots)
I bought this for a vacation where I had zero access to a stove, and I ended up using it for literally everything. I’m a bit of a stickler for power, and this 1500W burner actually delivered. The real test was a Miami roast. I was skeptical about a portable plate holding a steady low temp for a long time, but I left this on setting #1 #2 for four straight hours. The roast came out perfect tender and not scorched. It’s got great thermal mass because of the cast iron, so it doesn't just "flicker" on and off; it holds the heat. I also used it for big pots of soup and boiling water for eggs. Even with a large stockpot, it managed to get a good rolling boil going. It’s heavy-duty, stable (doesn't slide around), and the stainless finish makes it easy to wipe down after a messy cook. If you’re traveling or renovating and need a "real" burner that won't die after an hour of use, this is it. Pros: Serious heat, Handles big water pots without a struggle. Steady low end, Perfect for 4 hour braises or roasts. Solid build, Doesn’t feel like a cheap plastic toy. Cons, The cast iron stays hot for a long time after you turn it off, so just watch your hands.

internal circuit fried and spewing toxic visible smoke from the on/off switch
WARNING: The unit is just over 3 months old and it is now creating acrid smoke fumes from the inside of the unit by the power switch. I can see that the plastic of the house is also warped beneath the knob. It is now unsafe to use and a fire hazard since it is acting like the circuit is fried. This problem started after I had a pot simmering on the burner for about 2 hours. I advise anyone using a hot plate of this type not to try to simmer anything on it for an extended period of time. The circuitry does not appear to be insulated against the heating element and likely just melted.
