Great Multi Region Disc Player (But Has Limited USB Stick Capacity)
I am glad I bought this player as it means I can play any DVD or Blu Ray from any region in the world. I also use it as my CD player as my TV is connected to an amp and speakers (for surround sound), so it's a great all rounder. Nice and compact too, so it doesn't take up much space. It also plays digital files from memory stick - but there are some limitations there. The player doesn't seem able to "read" any memory stick over 16GB in size. Therefore, if you have digital media (on stick) to view, you'll need to transfer it down to a smaller device. It also doesn't play all formats (from memory stick). Some older digital files that I can still play on my PC (using VLC Software) aren't "recognised" by this player - but most general modern file types read OK (MP4 etc). Buyers need also to be aware that the instructions for use aren't complete, but it's easy to work out what to do. Basically, DVD's (from any region) just play when you put them in. With Blu-Ray discs, the instructions tell you to press button 1 (for Region A), button 2 (for Region B) or button 3 (for Region C) whilst the tray is open. There is, however, another step beyond this not referenced on the instructions (see below). Once you have selected the right region (see above) the disc tray closes by itself. The next screen you see has four options displayed: "Movie", "Photo", "Music" and "Settings". Once your Blu-Ray is in, the temptation is to select "Movie"...but it will not play if you do. If you look to the very bottom of the screen, there is a small "Blu-Ray" icon displayed. Using the arrow keys and the "Enter" key on your remote, you must select this "Blu-Ray" icon in order for it to play. Then you're good to go. All that taken into consideration, it is a great device for its price and one you will get many hours enjoyment out of. It has really broadened the range of movies / TV shows I watch as a lot of titles don't get a UK release and aren't always available on other digital platforms.

LIFE GOOD MULTIREGION BLU-RAY AND DVD PLAY LG BP-250
If you want a Blu-ray player at a reasonable price and a good trusted make then you cannot go far wrong with this. This LG (LIFE GOOD) product will play Blu-rays REGION A: (U.S.A and other parts of AMERICA also JAPAN, SOUTH KOREA, SOUTH EAST ASIA) REGION B: (U.K. AND EUROPE, AFRICA, MIDDLE EAST AND AUSTRALIA) REGION C: (Other parts of ASIA). In addition to playing Blu-ray's this will play Multi-region DVD'S such as REGION 1 U.S.A. DISCS and REGION 2 UK and EUROPE DISCS as well as other regions. So this is an essential product to have if you have been having problems with your Blu-ray's and Dvd's not playing on your standard player (personally I hate region codes and think that they should never have been invented in the first place and I know that it is to do with cinema releases not being shown at the same time in a perticular country, it's to stop people in another country seeing that movie on dvd before it's release, but I feel that films should have the same release dates in both the U.S.. and U.K. but as these annoying region codes exist I had to get this player having ammassed a collection of Region 1 U.S.A DVD discs that would not play on a standard U.K. player so this player solved my problem) this is a good replacement, also this player is easy to set up using a HDMI cable to your tv and it is also slimline, so doesn't take up a lot of room. I paid around £134 from Amazon which is not a bad price. Thanks for reading this review from Garybaldi

NOT REGION FREE - don't be the next victim!
Don't do what I did and assume the other 1 star reviews saying "NOT REGION FREE" must be some kind of misunderstanding - because they're not. I got sent a standard, region locked 'LG BP-250'. As soon as the box arrived I had a bad feeling because i saw "region 2" written on it, with no instructions inside to change regions - and the first try of a foreign disc failed. It's a mystery to me as to why this is listed, very clearly as "Region free" - and yet it isn't. Look through the reviews and lots of other people are saying the same thing. Sadly, even as a region 2 player I wasn't very impressed with this machine. It played my UK Blu ray's and DVD's just fine, and i was quite impressed with the DVD upscaling, but there seemed to be errors with the software on the device. For example, I would skip a scene using the remote and the entire movie would just stop playing. Other times there would be weird static interference on the screen and the image would start to glitch. In fairness, I was given a full refund - and you will see lots of 5 star reviews on here raving about this machine. I can't quite understand where those reviews are coming from, personally, because so far as I can see this device is not what it is advertised as - the only theory I can think of is that some people are being sent region unlocked while others are not - either way it's a gamble.

Yes, it really works!
I really recommend this LG Multi-Region BluRay Player - it really works, I was able to follow the instructions to change to region A for BluRays (and I am 59 and not very good at any computer gadget setting up - but this is simple - with the door open point at the player and press 1 for region A, 2 for region B or 3 for region C and there it goes) and it played my A region BluRay with no problems. As I have not yet had this BluRay Player for long, I cannot be certain this will continue changing with no problems, time will tell, but you might be interested to know that I contacted the seller who was very helpful and told me that changing the BluRay settings can be done as many times as I would want to, there is no limit to the number of times you can switch region settings, for as long as the BluRay Player still continues to function (I am hoping a long time - if not, I will be back to let you know). I previously purchased this same LG Multi-Region BluRay Player in 2020 it still works for all my DVDs of different regions and for B region BluRays (and region free of course) but when I tried playing my A Region BluRay on that older player for the 1st time after over 3 years use, I could not change the region (I do not know if it ever could, this was my first ever Region A BluRay) but as far as the DVDs of different regions are concerned I have used many without ever having any problems and no need to change settings for DVDs either. Another thing you might be interested in is that there are no high-pitched wining sounds whilst you play your films, both my BluRay players, old and new, are very quiet running - they do make quite a few sounds when you insert discs and change episodes on menus and that sort of thing, but during play whilst you are watching your films there is no annoying sounds. (Unless your dog is snoring!) I very much recommend this LG Multi-Region BluRay player. Happy customer :)

Freedom to watch all regions.
Has given us the freedom to watch both all regions of blu-ray and dad's. Letting us watch retro US.films and TV series not unavailable in uk. Also good picture and sound quality for such a little machine.

Nice kit, shame about the region-free price hike
Having had this player for a few months, I can now review it from experience. The first and obvious thing to say is that it works. It does play all of the discs it's been asked to play so far, Blue-ray and DVD, whatever their region. This is great as my kids and I have pretty obscure tastes that often run to movies and TV shows that have never been given a Region 2 release. This player was bought to replace a previous one we had made region-free years ago using a simple hack we found online. This time round, that seems to be more difficult to achieve, presumably made so by manufacturers, so we opted for this one that has been hacked for us. We did, however, have to pay a hefty increase on the base price of the unit for the region-free hack that's been applied to it. It would be really nice if manufacturers just treated us like grown-ups and made all their players region-free in the first place. Ah well, a person can dream... That said, the quality of the player is hard to fault. It even noticeably enhances the quality of DVDs played on it over any other player we've owned, which is a very nice bonus. For both Blue-rays and DVDs, it produces a good, clear, crisp image. The only minor quibble with it is that it sometimes has odd ways of handling disc menus. Sometimes it bypasses them altogether and just starts playing the movie or first episode on the disc as soon as you put it in. This can be an issue if you're wanting to watch an episode other than the first. You then have to manually access the menu and locate the episode you want. Unlike our previous player, it doesn't seem to have the facility to recall the point you got to on a disc and begin again from that point after a restart. As said though, these are minor quibbles with what is otherwise a very good player that also benefits from being nicely compact and not taking up a whole lot of room on the TV shelf. All in all, pleased with our purchase and would recommend it to anyone else with a collection that includes obscure Japanese movies, cult TV shows and box sets of 'Mystery Science Theater 3000.'

RUINED MY DVD DISCS !!!
I bought this player to play region a blu rays and region 1 dvds , it does play them , however i noticed that when a disc has been put in it comes out smelling of a burnt off disc smell , also it seems to leave little patches of residue on discs, not aLL THE TIME , BUT DOES DO THIS , I PUT A DVD IN AND WATCHED IT THEN IT STARTED TO FREEZE , I TOOK DISC OUT AND IT HAD THIS RESIDUE ON IT , I WIPED IT PUT IT BACK IN AND THE DISC IS NOW RUINED , i contacted support and they sent me a replacement player , Again it leaves a residue that smells like a "burnt off disc smell" on many of the dvds , i am now terrified to put any of my discs into this machine for fear of ruining them , i look after my discs and keep them clean , i got in touch and they said they will repair it for me , but i dont feel that this will be sufficent , as the last model was the same , i feel i have wasted over £100 on something i am fearfull of using , my standard lg blu ray player has always been trustworthy but this lg multi bluray player is a nightmare
