Works, saved me massive money and headache
Yes Yes Yes! Saved me a lot of money on a dealer replacement. I did not "cut" a new key, My old Kia (2012) has a pin in the metal key part you can poke out, transfer the original cut metal key part to the new fob. Transfer the motherboard thingy, put it back together carefully and it works!

Good value, exactly what I needed.
It shipped really quickly and came nicely packaged. I watched a quick YouTube video on the process and within about 10 minutes I fixed a problem thag plagued me for years 😂 The hardest part was getting my old fob open because it was so old, but once that was done it was super easy to put in the pieces and snap it all together. Like others have said, the new hinge button doesnt fit but swapping the old one over works just fine. Overall I highly recommend!

Price.
Went to my dealer to get my car keys done over. The rubber marker that turn the car on where worn out. The dealer said I could get them on Amazon for $8. to $12. dollars. So I did, the work perfectly, I didn't have to pay $250.oo to have them fixed. Just $8.00 dollars. I love my dealer and these Amazon key- fixer.

Hidden Complications
The product itself is absolutely fine. It's a good quality shell/cover for minimal cost. The problem lies with the old key fob. Getting it apart can be challenging, and you need to be careful so you don't damage the inside components. Cars in general, and even different production runs of a year/model, can be assembled differently, which makes it impossible to provide buyers with instructions that cover all possibilities for transferring the innards of the old fob to the new fob. In my case, the old fob had the ignition transponder glued into a recess in the corner of the fob and it was all too easy to ignore. Most You Tube videos did not address the transponder. So I moved all the other components from old fob to new fob, then tested the buttons and they all worked. But when I tried to start the car, it wouldn't start. I finally learned that when you try to start the car, a part in the ignition sends a message to the transponder in the key fob, and if the transponder is missing or broken, your car won't start. In my situation, the transponder in one of my old fobs was loose, so I was able to find it in the bottom of my trash can and insert it in the new fob, and the car started. Unfortunately the other transponder was soundly glued and, in the process of removing it, I must have damaged it, and it will not start the car. So now I have just one working key. The dealer could program a new transponder, but won't sell me just a transponder. They can only sell me a complete new fob for $500. I'm in the process of checking with automotive locksmiths, and also looking for a used fob from a junkyard.

Came with what I needed to get the job done.
I does what you need it to do and all of the proper components are there - but goodness gracious, this was difficult to do! Had nothing to do with the shell and components given to me and everything to do with the original keys. They were very hard to disassemble. You have to look up YouTube videos to be able to see how to install because it comes with zero instructions.

Looks nice but not very durable
The metal part that holds the key blade in has a little pin that you have to remove to swap the included blank with your already cut key; normally a thumbtack or sim key or something of similar size will pop that pin out without much effort so you can swap the blade. The metal on these (while very shiny) is very inferior quality compared to OEM fob. Basically its like the pin is welded in there and virtually impossible to remove without breaking the head that holds the blade, thus rendering it completely worthless. If your fob is still functioning but just needs new buttons, I would suggest ordering the replacement keypad rather than entire fob shell.

Perfect replacement for a remote with worn out buttons
The rubber buttons on the old remote were all worn out, so it worked only as a key. I looked at getting a replacement fob from Kia and a locksmith, but it was going to cost $200 and require reprogramming which they expected to take a few hours if not a full day. Then it turned out they couldn't even get them in stock. I wasn't sure if the electronics were still good, but I ordered this gambling that they were. It arrived quickly, but with no directions on how to swap the parts. It wasn't too difficult to figure out and the original board popped into place fairly easily... and it works like a champ! It's fantastic to have a working remote control again. If you want to use the original key, you're going to have to use a roll pin punch to remove the key and then to lock the original key into place. You'll also likely need to file the old key for it to fit properly, but it does lock into place and will work if it's done right. I was able to get this to work. If you can't get it to fit, the key that comes with the remote can be cut to match the original key.

Great product!! Doesn't look like it opens up but it does.
This is a shell replacement. If your mother board is damaged then this will not work for you. When you open up or break open the old key fob watch for two very small peices a black and a white one. Make sure you put the little black peice and white chip back in the top corner where the flashing light is. That is your chip!! Your car will start but not stay running without these :) open the old key fob in a zip lock bag to contain all the little peices (we thought those peices were broken from the old fob. But they were the main chip haha) i also had to use my old button as the button that was included was not long enough to sit through the fob. I asked for a refund cause it didn't look like you could open the new one up. My dad figured it out :) I just sent a message to cancel the refund and return. Thanks so much saved alot of money!!! This was for a 2013 Kia rio :) old keyfob had busted buttons missing buttons. 10 years old and the original!!

Like new
The shells are easy to use to swap out the old working electronic board, cut key and security immobilizer chip. Several videos on YouTube. All Canadian fobs usually have a immobilizer chip so careful you have All the internal parts from your old fob!

Good, but key blank did not match my 2011 Kia Soul. Made it work anyway.
When we bought a used 2011 Kia Soul recently both fob/keys were in bad shape. One was held together with a rubber band and when I transferred the electronics to these new cases I learned the other had been glued shut by the previous owner. The key on that second fob broke right out of the swivel block which prompted this repair. Although they claim to be compatible with my vehicle it turned out the key blanks were completely different to the original keys so I couldn't use them, but it was fairly easy to reuse the old ones. On the one with the broken swivel block I had to use a ground-off finishing nail to remove the tiny roll pin in the new block and fit the old key into it, which required a bit of reshaping of the shank with a small triangle file. In the end it fit like it was made for it but if your aren't handy it might be a problem for you. If your old swivel blocks and keys are intact your can just transfer them over as is for a quick repair with no need to get a locksmith to cut the new keys. Unlike the old cases, these ones are held together with a tiny screw, not just friction, so I don't expect them to fall apart anytime soon. Contrary to some web sites I read in preparation, my 2011 Soul DID have the transponder chip in the old cases, so they had to be moved to these new cases for them to start the car. They are glued securely in place so this isn't very easy, but there are YouTube tutorials that tell you how to extract them and install them into the new cases. I also transferred the old Kia logo badge from the back of the old fobs as well as the metallic product label, which required a thin spray of 3M #77 since the old adhesive stayed on the old cases. The oval recess on the back where the badge goes is a bit bigger than on the originals so there is a little space all around, but it looks fine if you place it carefully. Two turns of the spring when assembling the case halves and it responds to the release button just like a new fob. The end result looks, feels, and operates like new. I deducted one star because the key blank was not correct for my vehicle.

Good price
Too difficult to rebuild but if you take off the rubber buttons off the new key and soak it in carb cleaner for one second and pop them onto the old keys they work fine. Make sure you press them very quickly and hard and the rubbers locked unlock buttons cover will stay on
