I think this series of books are excellent source of facts and knowledge when your children ask you questions you have no idea how to answer.

This book is a fun reference book and a quick teaching tool. Often enjoy just reading three or four "explanations" for fun. Looked for it for many months.

Bought these books for my granddaughter as I bought them for my daughter when she was the same age 6. My granddaughter wants to know alot about everything and this books explains alot of reasons why.

I should have thought of this at the time, but I bought this book on the recommendation of a teacher who had it as a child and wanted the "vintage" feel of it. I intended it for my 6-year old, but as I started looking through it I realized that the answers to the questions were outdated and in a lot of respects, incorrect based on what we now know. There is a new version of this book out now (I believe by different authors)...go with that one. It won't look like it's been passed down, but at least it will have scientifically current/correct answers.
