My son and I were very impressed with this small device that does the same as Walkman and also has so many other features, like being able to watch a flick and discern which songs to include in the directory. The instructions are lacking and you need a youngster to figure them out for you, but once that is done it is a snap. Review: Sigo music player - Instructions are near worthless, not much on the web either. The music player appears to drain the battery unless you turn it off in a very speicific way. It has very good sound and the earplugs work very well. I still am not sure if the mini card slot works like I want it to because at this point when I play for it I have to select one song at a time and it won't move to another song automatically. As for the touch screen, I am not a big fan and there are too many moves to accomplish things I want it to do. Not to mention it also is not as dependable to work on every touch. Scrolling seems to require a perfect pressure or you end up selection you were starting the scroll at. In short, it's worth the money, but no prize.

It's a waste of money!!
I bought this item about 3 months ago. It came nice, and I opened the box. Everything looked good. I tried to turn it on. So, I opened the battery buckle. But it didn't open. I tried hard to open it so it finally opened. But a piece fell out together so I couldn't put the battery buckle on again. I had to attach tape to the buckle to see movies or listen to music. On the same day, the USB cable broke so I couldn't connect the mp3 to the computer. So I bought a new one. A few days ago, I was watching a movie but the power suddenly went off. It had enough battery, so I tried to turn it on. But it didn't work. So, I waited a few days and tried again. It worked, but, not really. When I turned it on, the screen changed white with a weird sound. So, I turned it off. It had been 3 months I bought it,and now, it's not working at all!

Not so good.
I recently bought this device and found it to be a disappointment. I was looking for a portable media player that was capable of playing a multitude of video formats, specifically MP4 videos. It did this pretty well and the picture quality was great. It was also easy to navigate via the touch screen which you do need to use your fingernail to pinpoint what you want to select on the screen. Not a big problem. The main problem with this device was a very annoying and disappointing issue. Every time I charged the device and then tried to power on, it FAILED. Nothing happened. The only way to get it to power up again was to remove the battery (which is great that you can even remove the battery on a media player, as MANY if not all don't have this feature) and insert it again. Also, the battery is a pain in the you know what to get it to come out. I had to slap it on its side just to get it to budge out. This really was my main gripe. The other problem that I noticed was that it did not play all of my audio MP3 files. On particular music tracks I loaded onto the device, it would make a stuttering sound and fail to play. Some songs within the album would play but others would not. Another big disappointment. So as you might expect, it's on its way back to the seller now for a refund. I'll keep looking, as you should do as well. I'm going to give the Coby MP957 a go to see if I can get around these issues. It has a comparable price-point but half the on-board capacity (only 4GB of hard drive space). It does offer an expandable memory slot which is a big plus and key selling point. I'll just keep my fingers crossed in hopes that this player will not be defective like this one.

Good sounding Music Player, good Video Player, great price.
When I first got my player, I was impressed by the package. Its contents looked high quality for the price. Proceeded to charge the unit while I read the instructions. The unit that you will receive is identical to the one pictured but in Black color, which I ordered and prefer. The box contains a SIGO V100T 8GB player. A set of white earphones A USB to Mini USB cable for connecting the main unit to a computer or a battery charger. An extra battery. This is great because the battery is replaceable. The battery is an easily obtainable battery used by NOKIA (BL-5C)and many other rechargeable players. A 5V 0.1Amp USB charger. You could not ask for more considering this unit is less than $40.00 After an hour the player indicated that the battery was fully charged from the wall charger. I never connected the unit to my computer. I then inserted a 16GB Micro SD memory loaded with MP3 music and got the unit to turn on. Manufacturer claims to be compatible with up to 32GB. That is a lot of music. I then realized that the very poorly written instructions must be for a another similar player but not for this model, eventualy I figured how to play music from my memory card. As expected for this price the screen is a little slow and not very sensitive. The color is not that good and if you don't look at it straight ahead the colors will wash out. I have been using my high quality ear plugs and not the ones included, so I can't tell you if included ones are any good. With my plugs, the unit sounds very good at good volume. I have the volume on 11 and goes up to 30. There are several settings for the music equalizer, I selected DANCE because it sounds better to me , but that is very subjective. The built in speaker is not very good as expected. I have been listening to music for over two hours now and the player is still going and showing Album Art, song name, Artist and a graphic bar display. It looks cool if you look at it straight ahead. The player has many other functions that I have not try and will never use since the screen in not very sensitive. Even the calculator is hard to use. In addition it has a Photo viewer, a Movie Payer, and English to Chinese and Chinese to English Translator. Some of the icons have chinese characters. The battery is hard to get out, so I will not be changing it frequently, only when necessary on a long trip. I have several of these batteries since I own other players that use the same battery so in theory I could go for days without and AC plug. The manufacturer has a website, you can see many good pictures of the player. Go to "sigotech dot com" click on English near the top, then on Multimedia Players and look for model V100Touch. Would I recommend this unit? Yes, if you are looking for an inexpensive Music Player for private listening (earphones) or connected to external powered speakers. I connected the unit to my Car Stereo using the auxiliary input (3.5mm plug) and it sounded as good as the CD player. Of course my music is ripped to high bit MP3, but the manufacturer claims to play uncompressed FLAC files. I am still to try that. Since my entire CD collection is ripped to FLAC, all I have to do is to copy files to a 32GB SD memory and that is a lot of music to try. UPDATE Oct. 26, 2012 I have now loaded a one hour MP4 video to the SD memory card. It played flawlessly, the little player is more powerful that it looks. The screen continues to be the weak point, it can not be watched from the side or bottom, but it you look at it from the front it looks very good. The screen is not very sensitive, if you need to interact frequently with the screen (like using the calculator), you better look somewhere else. Otherwise this is an excellent product for its price. The other excellent part is the distributor's Customer Service, I emailed Pro Ebiz LLC to see if the screen could be calibrated, they replied in less than 30 minutes, and it was midnight. WOW,I wish Apple were that fast.

love it
I needed an MP4 player and this one works great. Price is great. Manual is not the best but product is easy to figure out. Arrived very quickly. Speaker is not bad.

Good for the money, with a few quirks
We bought this MP3 player as a replacement for an old Creative Zen that was dying, with one specific aim in mind: to be plugged in to a stereo and play music through it. We had no intention of it being a carry-about; it's plugged in permanently so its battery life isn't an issue. As such, after a while of using it, here's my thoughts: 1. For the money, it's quite something. Most MP3 players that are 8Gb are much more expensive; we didn't want to spend a lot, but wanted something that had a good display and a 'normal' set of features. The Sigo fits that bill. 2. It's quirky in terms of usage; it does everything you'd like (except playlists as far as I can tell, though we've used Genres instead), but it can take a bit of time to figure out where everything is. My wife got a bit frustrated with it at first but my daughter figured it all out and showed her how to use it! 3. The touchscreen works, but is a bit picky at times. However, very conveniently the Sigo comes with plenty of buttons on the side as well which you can use if you're having trouble with getting the touchscreen to do exactly what you want. 4. Very nice big screen, very pretty and well lit. Most of the buttons on the initial screen are not ones I'd ever use, but you can swipe to the right and get a more specific screen for music. 5. The instruction manual is worth the money by itself: if you're looking for entertainment, just pick it up, read it and try to figure out what on earth they're trying to say. Sheer genius. 6. We had one occurrence where it wouldn't start up, and it doesn't have a reset button like most MP3 players; but since it has a removable battery, I just removed it and put it back and that cleared up the problem. Overall, would I recommend it? A hesitant yes; it's almost really good, the main disadvantages being the slightly arbitrary touchscreen and the fact that certain menus don't default to logical setups (albums, for example, don't default to alphabetical order, I can't discern any order to them, but you can switch it to alphabetical readily enough, but you have to do it every time you start up the machine). If you can live with the quirks and want something on a small budget, then I'd recommend it. I would emphasize again, though, that I can't comment on battery life.

When it works it is OK
I bought this Pyrus Electronics / Sigo (TM) 8gb Mp3 / mp4 / mp5 Player with 4.3 Inch touch screen in July and received it in August, it is now the 2nd of October and the unit does not work. It initially had issues in early September where the operating sytstem would not boot. I got an RMA for the player but it started working again so I didn't return it. BIG MISTAKE. The operating system will not start up again and I dropped the unit from about 8 - 12 inches off my desk and the touch screen shattered, you would think that it would be at least a little more robust than that. Now it appears as I will not have any recourse to get my money back. I would not suggest buying this Mp3 player unless you have $50 to throw away every couple of months. When it works it works OK, not great but OK, I did like the big screen and the touch screen even though the touch screen was slow to acknowledge a lot of the time. Steer clear of this one.
