The dexter website shows that the the9ht comes with extra interchangeable soles (left & right), and a toe guard. is that the way amazon sells it?

It is not usual that Dexter to provide extra soles and heels for your new shoes. I would go to the Dexter site in the internet for your possible purchase.

Just received my dexter the 9 ht black / grey ,seams to be wide. Do they make them standard width ?

You may check the tongue of the shoes to confirm what width they are. A standard width men shoe is a D width and it would either be marked as a M or D width on the tongue. If it is wide then it could either be marked W or WW for wide or it may be EE which is the width the wide comes in. If you did get a shoe marked as one of the wide options I listed, then you would have the option to go down to a medium or standard width. If the tongue shows standard already then there is not a smaller width to go to unfortunately.
