Mean Well RS-15-5 AC to DC Power Supply Single Output, 5V 3 Amp 15W

So, I am using this product to power a small pre-amp for my home stereo. The power supply that came with the preamp caused noise to emanate from my speakers, especially the high range (15Khz and up). So I first replaced the OEM power supply with a better regulated 5 volt power supply. This worked fine, however the AC to DC power supply would run hot and it would also make noise through my speakers when I would run my dishwasher. So, I finally tried this MeanWell power supply and it totally did the trick. The MeanWell power supply not only runs completely cool to the touch, it also completely eliminated any and all unwanted noises from other electrical sources. I've also noticed it made my preamp sound better due to a smoother DC output. I'm guessing that this MeanWell power supply must have better power supply filtering than the other two power supplies that I tried. Oh also, the MeanWell power supply is extremely small making it great for hidden installations. This is well worth the money spent!! Don't hesitate!

Works great bought a second one for more projects will probably buy more. This is small enough for most project and has 5v power which is great for a lot of small electronics projects or 5v RGB lights.

Unlike cheap AC-DC or DC-DC converters, my measured noise DC-3 GHz was 36 mV pp @ 1.6A which meets the 50mV pp specification. The unit does not overheat and can meet its 2A specification unlike cheap converters that get red hot. This is a reputable company with a good product that is worth buyinng

Bought this to replace an older version of the same power supply under the part #NES-15-5. Worked just fine but the overall length was a little shorter so the mounting screw holes did not line up exactly. Terminals were identical.

I am using this little 5 volt switching power supply in conjunction with my ham radio station. I've shown it much abuse in my experimentation, and it's never failed to protect itself. It puts out a perfect 5.00 volts, and does indeed deliver 3 amps. Best yet, I'm using this supply in a critical radio listening environment, and it doesn't produce any detectable hash or noise. We had a number of Mean Well supplies in commercial broadcast transmitters when I worked in that industry. I don't think we ever had a failure with them. The company name is a little goofy, but they build a good product.

It's the perfect fit for my ammo box controller case. Running 12V lights, but needed a 5V always-on power supply for the ESP32 board so I can use the controller to trigger the 12V supply on and off during light show hours. This power supply takes up very little room, allowing everything to fit on a custom printed mounting bracket for a smooth fit with room to spare.

Recommended, worked great for my need.

I try to only use MeanWell power supplied. The reason is simple, they are very well built, with quality components, and works for years on end w/o any glitches. Price is maybe a bit higher than no-name Chinese power supplies, but the quality is significantly higher.

Wir nutzen MeanWell-Netzteile in der Firma in unseren Produkten. Privat habe ich mir ein 5V-/15W-Netzteil für die Stromversorgung eines RasPi gekauft (siehe Foto), den ich später zusammen mit dem Netzteil und Peripheriegeräten in ein Gehäuse einbauen werde. Im Gegensatz zu den gekapselten Schaltnetzteilen mit Micro-USB-Stecker haben MeanWell-Netzteile auch einen Anschluss für den Schutzleiter (PE). Das Gehäuse des Netzteils sorgt dann für eine Abschirmung der Störstrahlung, die bei hohen Lasten auftreten kann. Die Ausgangsspannung des Netzteils kann an einem Trimmpoti im Bereich von 4,75V bis 5,5V justiert werden; die Spannungstoleranz beträgt ±2% (bei diesem Modell). Beeindruckend finde ich den Temperaturbereich von -20º bis 70º C bei 20-90% rel. Luftfeuchte; dadurch lassen sich die Netzteile auch im nicht isolierten Dachboden oder im nicht beheizten Keller betreiben (das ist für Netzteile dieser Preisklasse nicht selbstverständlich). Bei Überhitzung schaltet sich das Netzteil ab und nach Stabilisierung der Temperatur wieder ein, ebenso bei Überlast und bei Überspannung von bis zu 300V für weniger als 5 Sekunden. Die verbauten Long-Life-Elkos versprechen eine lange Lebensdauer des Netzteils. Wer ein zuverlässiges und langlebiges Schaltnetzteil sucht, ist m.E. mit MeanWell-Netzteilen gut bedient.
